SciFi and Fantasy Art: Instinctual Combat

This is a preliminary piece of artwork for a card game that is currently in the works. It's being put together by a couple of other guys here at Elfwood, as a matter of fact (and, while they don't know this, I've lost their email addresses and am kinda hoping they'll see this and get back to me so I can save their addies this time around >_<!!). Now, unlike other drawings that I've posted in stages in the past, this artwork will be replaced when the updated versions come in. The only reason I'm posting it here for now is because I wanted the guys to get a good look at it before I went on to finalize it. I need to make sure there are no problems with the pics, so as to minimize problems down the line. :) (Always thinkin', I am!) ;) Now, as for the picture, this wolf warrior is in his defensive cobat stance. Obviously, he's been expecting something for some time, and so his reflexes were at thier peak when danger finally appeared. The weapon he's holding in the background? Ya got me! ;) I figure it's kinda like a cross between a regular sword and a Bat'l'eh (or however you spell it), a Klingon close-combat weapon.
