SciFi and Fantasy Art: Spring Snow

One of my best Faeren pieces. It's somewhat of a transition pic from winter to spring, hence why he's dancing with butterflies, yet it's snowing in the background. And he's sporting his winter-ized outfit, which was very much fun to draw.

I like the concept and perception. Great job. ~Atmostrata

Just because I believe constructive criticism to be fantastic and important, I will point out that it would add a certain sense of realism, not to mention tie your character together with the background, if you had his boot sunken slightly in the snow and a track or two. Just my thought, though.

Besides that this pick is well drawn and charming. Keep it up.

Gorgeous and beautiful. The subtle shades give a fabulous atmosphere. Stunning. *Smiles*

This is your best pic, but I can't decide whether I like the black and white or the coloured version better. They're both gorgeous!

You're very, very talented, and I'm very, very jealous. 12

WOOT!! This is great. I saw the colored one and I have a wee question...

When you color, do you color over the shading that was already done with the graphite pencil? Or do you erase the shading of the pencil, and just use color? I'd likee to know! ^_^ Because your coloring is very nice! Great job.

:-) Adele Lorienne Sessler replies: "I can't color with graphite shading, as my preferred style of painting is under the lines. Sometimes I do paint over the lines, when I'm doing elaborate backgrounds and such, and then it doesn't matter. But usually, I scan the lineart first and keep a file to paint, and then, if I want a pencil shaded version, I can shade the lineart. "
