SciFi and Fantasy Art: Chained

Sad pic, even though I was not feeling depressed at the time. *shrugs*
I was attempting to get a feeling of tension in the body of the what-ever-it-is....which is why I started the whole pic. I don't believe I succeeded very well, the only way you can tell it's tied is the chain...so if any one of you helpful non-existant viewers would like to give me a hand, I'd be muchly grateful. ;P

Nobody's commented on this yet?! *shocked look* The bird/equine blend is so cool! The tannish-brown shading on the yellow feathers gives them a cool shine, and I think you're wrong when you say there's no tension in the body - there's plenty! Only thing is that the chain isn't completely straight, which might be why it looks a little unnatural. Maybe try a ruler as a guideline next time?

Anyway, it's an awesome picture! *runs off to check out the rest of the gallery* You're very right about that stooooooopid chain *growls at it*...it had a mysterous aversion to straightness when I drew it. =p Good suggestion. *pulls out her ruler* Next time....I'll be ready.

ooo the feeling. I know what it is!!!!!!!!! Tis a hippogryph! Im smart in mah head ::taps head:: yup! A hippogryph be a horse/byrd combo like the gryph is a lion/bird though it doesnt have to be a lion. Not that you need that info, its just for the benefit of anybody whos curious.

This is really well drawn, I couldnt do that. the picture captures the pain he must be feeling. Too be unable to fly.....tis a sad thing :21kyfyre nods:: Uh huh. Kudos!

Of course it's a hippogriff! 12 I got that right away. *Gasp!* It could be Buckbeak from Harry Potter!! ::long pause as people near her start to back away slowly:: Eh, right... Anyway, I love the colors and the blending. 2

Great pose! I love the shape of the wings and the sensation of... power.

Ok you asked for constructive critisism so don't get me wrong I like this but if he was really straining wouldn't he have both wings back. Also perhaps look at a dog cat or horse pulling back for the legs. The head is back so that helps but I'm not sure if it's completely correct for the posture. Just some thoughts. I do see some of it in there even without those ideas.

Hey, aren't gryphons supposed to be LIONS and EAGLE?

I am not the same person as above, nor did I know that this name was taken. oops.
anyway, really nicely done. this is the same one from ’end of flight’, right? only thing that could be better is the front legs, which seem a tad chunky.
