SciFi and Fantasy Art: Bliss

I so want to be her!!! She's sitting in a little fabric hammock chair thing, and she's reading the Bible. I love it. I'd never really drawn a peaceful look on someone's face, and I wanted to convey a sense of peace, joy, and restfulness. You might notice that there is light coming from the Book. ::sigh:: So happy...anyway, I know it's not one of my best, but I like it. Drawn at school with pencil, gone over with ballpoint pen, and colored with a few pencils I had. **Update!** New color, yet again, and a lighting effect to boot. ^_^

Wow.. so peaceful... *sigh* I love how you got her dress to be all gauzy and stuff; It's quite pretty. Such a tranquil piece- I do think it's her expression that completes it. Well done!

1 Elizabeth Bartlett replies: "Thank you!! ^_^ I'm so glad you like it! I like her expression, too. Thanks again!"

I absolutely love this pic! It's so peaceful and I love this special feeling, aura in it! I want to be her too! Wonderful! There are some atomic faults, but I don't care!

2 Elizabeth Bartlett replies: "Thanks!! I'm glad you like it, too! ^_^"

Just wanted to let you know that I saved this picture, as well as "Bound." I won't try to pass them off as mine or sell them or anything wierd....I just like having them accesible. 2 If you mind, send me an email.

1 Elizabeth Bartlett replies: "Aww, thanks! ::grin:: I'm honored. "

I like how you got the peaceful feeling across in her face. There are some technical/anatomical errors, but unlike with some artists, everything else you do outweighs the technical mistakes! This is beautiful. I wish I could sit on a hammock and read peacefully...but even if I had a hammock, I would get seasick. >.< The greenery is my favorite part of this picture. It may not be photo-realism, but there's something about it - partially the nifty light effect ^^ - that makes me feel like I'm looking at real plants. Purdy! ^0^

1 Elizabeth Bartlett replies: "Wow, thanks! Yeah, this is a really old picture...but I'm glad people still like it! I'll bet if I tried to do another version now that the anatomy would be better. Thank you!"
