SciFi and Fantasy Art: Chrysalis

Yeah...it's not upside down, she's breaking free, but it hurts. I had the hardest time with the arms!!! I had to drape myself over the edge of my bed and see how my arms fell...the blood was all rushing to my head, wheeeee that was fun, let me tell you!!! But yeah, I hope you like. The stuff dripping isn't blood, by the way...it's like cocoon fluid or something. **Updated pic!** Lighting effects...sweeeeett....

12 Elizabeth Bartlett replies: "yes, it is kind of sad, but the fact is, she's finally free, even though it hurts. Thanks for the comment!"

Born only into pain. How Ironic. Very good concept. I think my favorite part is the way her body rigidly bends over the wall of the cacoon. Good work!

1 Elizabeth Bartlett replies: "Thanks very much! Actually, when I drew this, I wasn't QUITE thinking that she was being born into pain, more like...when one decides to break out of the dead, restricting cocoon of society, it hurts to let go of what we've known...but anyway, that's another cool perspective, thanks! ^_^"

Well drawn, except the blood does not follow the contours of the torso enough (not to sound like a pervert).

2 Elizabeth Bartlett replies: "Blood?...OH! Hehe, that's not blood draped over her chest; it's like a lil'...shred of cloth or cocoon or something...I have a problem with drawing STARK nekkid people, or at least I did. Heh, sorry!"
