SciFi and Fantasy Art: Talia the Courtesan

For this particular picture, I experimented with angles. Yes, I know the face may appear funny, but that's the slightly back and side angle of her face (which I'm still practicing on). Though she is a courtesan, I didn't want her to be too outrageously sexy. Rather, I tried to convey that in her pose and expression, without showing so much flesh. Isn't that the ultimate seduction?Used #2 mechanical pencil on bristol.

Arms. I'm not going to go into the head and neck bit, since you said you were working on that, and beLIEVE me, I know what a pain angles like that can be. However, the arms a bit to thin and spindly to be attached to a body like that. It's not the normal problem you'd run across these days which would be an anorexic female figure with an improbable DD and an impossible center of gravity. It's a fairly decent, sensually posed body of a real woman. The problem is, the hands look like they might have come off one of those aforementioned anorexic ladies... No offence. Just construstive critisism. 2

I love the face, it's so perfect. And her bust isn't . . . . huge. I see alot of that here in EW. She seems not too have enough curve, though. Maybe it's just the way she's standing? I dunno. Keep it up, though. You're awesome at realism. *goggles s'more*

Just my two coppers..
The proportion looks just great to me.. as far as the head being too small.. it's forshortening.. her head is tilted backwards slightly.. maybe a bit of shading on the forehead would convey that.. I don't know.
The arms look good to me, too.
And her curves are fine! Maybe it's just because I have that particular body type 12 A bit broad, nice shape, but not exactly voluptuous.
Very, very nice. Keep it up!

Ah, lovely! This woman certanily does look like someone whose name might be Talia. You, Andrea, definitly have a way of capturing living spirit in your beaufitul artwork.

I like it. For some reason she reminds me of Christams Jones from The World is Not Enough. I think it's the face

:-) Andrea T.A. Osakoda replies: "I never seen the movie, but I do appreciate the compliment. It's certainly a difficult pose to pull off. Thank you for visiting, and I hope to return the visit as well."
