SciFi and Fantasy Art: Tranquil Kingdom

Have you ever wanted to be someplace other than where you are? No stress, no worry, just calm. I created this sketch while I was totally bored, working on bits of it at a time. This is drawn on the back of an advertisement. At the time, what I would've given for a decent piece of paper!

Can I go there? It is very peaceful and tranquil-looking. You're excellent with pencils... This is a really beautiful pic. ^_^

the rush of runoff down a spillway formed by earth and stone shaping fills the air - though over its roaring can occasional be heard a few notes of what we would take for the singing of birds. mind freed from the ballast of dross contemplates unhampered by attatchments and assumptions, burdens whether imposed or assumed are shed like dead skin in a shower. stray droplets, the gifts of a playful breeze, touch our brow at odd and unpredictable moments ... we have other duties - other times and places to return to - but for now - we are blessed with a moment of peaceful meditation ... ~12

I have to say, you are truely a master at shading. But advertisements are generally done on high quality paper...

Very beautiful. Reminds me of Rivendel from LoTR even though it doesn't look like it. Must be the waterfall thing, or the fact that this looks peaceful too. Great work!

:-) Andrea T.A. Osakoda replies: "Now that you mention it, it does sort of seem like Rivendell.. must be the waterfall! Everytime I look at this pic, I feel at peace as well."

oh, how pretty...I've got no patience to do lovely landscapes like this. o_O the rocks look so good!

:-) Andrea T.A. Osakoda replies: "Stuck at work with nothing to do, it's amazing what a doodle can bring! It did take a lot of time to do this, but the results were worth it. Thanks again!"

you're much better at unliving life than anything else. Maybe you should give that a try.
