SciFi and Fantasy Art: (3) Enter the Drider

This was just something that came out of my pencil. It started with just a face and rest just followed. I don't really know what Driders look like, but I think the kinda look like this. Okay the story behind this one... In the Drow Elf society the females are the Dominant figures (hmmm, much like ours ;) and naturally hands out all the punishments, under Lloth's instructions , of course. One of the worst thing to happen to a drow is to be turned into a Drider, forever under the control of the Spider Queen Lloth. But what if a drider gained control over its own fate?? Well of course he'll want the head of the person responsible for his condition, most likely his mother or sister. That's what happened here. For those who've R.A. Salvatores's books, this Drider is more tolerant to the light (just like Drizzt)and has learned a light spell to get an advantage over the light-hating Drow.

2 things:

1. Luv how the abs turn into the ..Spiders... Abdomen, and
2. The blood splatter on the ground is a cool (however twisted) touch

I guess I should read the Dark Elf Trilogy as soon as possible. Or were there driders in the Icewind books, too? If do, I don't remember, but this is really inspiring picture 2!

In some of the later books, when Matron Banre marches on Mithril Hall, one of Drizzt's sisters turns one of Drizzt's brothers into a drider. This awesome pic somehow reminded me of that. (It's been a long time since I read the Forgotten Realms books.)

The usual Drider is bloated, not ripped with muscles, but then this isn't the normmal drider as you already pointed out 12 If he's unsual enough to act on free will, have a light spell, then I'll believe can be a muscle hunk from the waist up.

It's kind of creepy. I had a dream where millions of spiders ripped my head of while I was alive. i woke up with a spider bite on my arm

Revenge! Take that, Lolth! Very well-done! I don't usualy like pictures with graphic violence, but this is excellent.

I love your idea of a free, vengeful Drider, I have this happy (And probably impossible) fantasy that one day an army of Driders will rise up to destroy Lolth's temples and eat all of her priestesses.
