SciFi and Fantasy Art: (3) Lover's DemiseI had being playing with an idea of having a Garden of Blood, basically if you disturb the serenity of the garden the pictures on the side of the 'pot-plant' will come to life and kill you, and of course the plant life benefits by sucking up all that blood. Special thanks to Janet E. Chui for pointing out the mistakes, they're still there, but I know what NOT to do next time. Oh! check out the rose in the guy's hand, bet you wuldn't of seen that if I didn't tell ya ;)
| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 9 Jun 2000 | The Artiste | Finally, someone noticed the oddness of the armour =). Her armour has been specifically designed. Her left side is left uncovered to not hinder her sword arm, so that she can take full advantage of her speed. Her right side is more covered as she is not able to use a medium sized shield, it tires her too quickly and slows her down. Instead she uses a small shield or buckler and needs the extra armour to deflect glancing blows. | |
| 10 Jun 2000 | Charlie Fowler | No formal art training? How in the world do you do this stuff? | |
| 8 Jul 2000 | Brandon J. Bray | This is great. No...make that wonderful. No thats still not good enough. Hmmm well how about that your just awesome and I love this. That works ) | |
| 17 Sep 2000 | erin | Heehee, speaking of details... the critter on the wall to the (viewer's) left looks familiar... And pretty cool! I lke the idea, and the rose, too- and that his hand has fallen open in death. Good attention to detail.... | |
| 1 Jun 2001 | Samantha 'Lex' Schwarte | Dang there is a lot of great detail in this! And the woman's expression is great. You're going to be famous someday, I mean it! This is wonderfully done. Cool dragon too =P | |
| 27 Feb 2002 | Anonymous | I have to say, its all wonderful and the girl is pretty w/ a genuine expression, but how come it looks like his head is not connected to his body properly? i don't mean to be rude but, his head and body (together) aren't at THE best angles. Don Alejandre Matthews replies: "Dude! the guy is dead ^_^;; Heh... well... you're prolly looking too much on the position of his armour, which the girl is pulling on, to his head, rather than his body (which is broken, so I wouldn't be surprised if his neck is too ) and that dodgey looking beard isn't helping... and the fact that I was supposed to be listing to a lecture... but that's no excuse ... I'll study the drawing further and see what it is that I'm missing O_o;;" | |
| 1 Aug 2002 | Thorgrimm Grudgebearer | Great piece, I love it...id have to say that my favorite part is the drider on the wall hehe...*wonders if it is a carving or picture...or maybe a reflection of something to finish off the woman* I also love the dragon... }8{ | |
| 9 Nov 2002 | Jessie | Okay this is just not fair. You're so much better than me! | |
| 11 Apr 2005 | sweetz | To the people who commented on the design of the armour....go rent the movie "a Knights Tale" the armour on the movie is made this way...it is to leave free movement of the sword hand/arm for better control of the sword. Some of the armour on that movie were designed the same way but went as far as to have a biult on face shield on the side with the shoulder gaurd, too. Armour all comes down to affording the most protection with the most control of movement.
I think the drwaing is wonderfully done...love the concept of the blood garden. great work
| 27 Jul 2005 | Child of Perception | Alright, just thought I'd mention that that dude looks way, WAY too old for that chic! ...great dragon, Don!... | |
