SciFi and Fantasy Art: Crawling Dragon I: Flame

As those of you with laptops might know, flat screens do very odd things to color and contrast if you don't position them just so. This salamander was designed as a calibration image (for those days when I'm not near a regular monitor) and therefore includes all of the worst culprits: dark shadows, bright highlights, and colors fading gradually from high saturation to barely not there. A four inch long paper version is taped to the frame of my screen and keeps me company while I write. The patterened background was added later because I thought it would make a neat bookmark.(pencil + pen; Photoshop colored)
