SciFi and Fantasy Art: MyrrahConcept sketch for a potential RP character, as well as experimentation with slouching figures. Myrrah, incidentally, is half feline (an actual species in this module) and half elf. I seem to have a tendency towards drawing large pointed ears. [3/15/01: Re the comments below -- you're right, I should've known better and given her a more catlike face Since I'm rather fond of the sketch itself, I hereby declare Myrrah to be a half-dragon, half-elf and half-rabbit.] | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 28 Mar 1999 | Daniel Sellers | The snout is too long and too broad. Check Peter Keres' work, and I have a pic in my gallery I'm pretty happy with. Look around for catgirl pics, and use those for study. | |
| 29 Mar 1999 | Brian Root, Evil Genius | No, don't check Peter Keres' work. Peter Keres is a hormone. Find some real cats, and draw them. | |
| 15 May 1999 | Jacque Rotzel | Could. I normally use various pictures of different types of cats as well as humans, and work from there, which works as well. You've got a nice style going here--don't loose it. | |
| 17 Jul 1999 | | She looks very draconic to me. Yes, look at pictures of cats, but do take a jaunt over to Keres' gallery and take a look at his cat-women... yes, he favors the female body (ask him- he doesn't deny it), but his technique is great. Not to come down on your picture at all, it has a great "feel" to it, and you pulled off the slouching figure well. | |
| 17 Jul 1999 | Keres Eiko & Luna | Khm. I`ll refrain from commenting Brian. My art DOES involve a great deal of celebrating the human body. But if you ask me, DO run a search on lothlorien and such places, and not for copying others, but to check for techniques, other kinds of visions, and mixtures between cats and humans. The greatest challenge is the atmosphere of a picture not the technical detail. But knowing both the human and the cat body`s structure does help a lot. Good luck. | |
| 10 Sep 1999 | Cynthia Lane Armstrong | Great slouch, and as for large, pointed ears, ever read any Poison Elves? | |
| 20 Sep 1999 | Elizabeth Raiman | Oh, for the love of.. people, it's fantasy. She could draw a naked mole rat, proclaim it to be a cat, and that's what it would be. So there. Buuuut seriously: the reason people are saying it's not cattish, I think, is the lack of a li'l triangular nose slapped on the end of the perfectly fine muzzle. Just an observation. I like it the way it is, meself. | |
| 18 Mar 2000 | Arianna | i like it too. it is rather superb. my art is awfully bad. wait, what am i talking about? i can't draw at all. | |
| 17 May 2001 | Gerald A Driscoll | Very good drawing in its self realy. Im having a similir problem trying to draw cat people *I FEEL YOUR PAIN!* -masaki | |
| 18 May 2001 | Sekhmet | she's cute, there's nothin wrong with big ears, i happen to be an anthro-bat fan, they have really big ears | |
