SciFi and Fantasy Art: Priestess of the Deep

You could, perhaps, call this one an anthropomorphic octopus. I mean...I wouldn't, but you could. Fresco-effects in Photoshop, partly because I liked the abstractness of the original and wanted to play on that. One doesn't come upon many pictures of pictures. As always, comments appreciated - especially since drawing tentacles is something relatively new to me.

This is an original. I like it a lot, the comment about the arm is probably right, but I really like the idea and the way it's done.

This is nice. The use of the filter is very appropriate to her.

DAMN. This is really neat. That filter adds a lot to it also. My only suggestion is to make the torso longer, and make tentacles come out about where legs would be... but thats me, picky 10. Tentacles look good!

Very cool, it looks like an ancient wall relief one would find in a ruined temple or tomb.

This is so cool. It DOES look like a presco. I like the way her face are sort of "alien" styled. I agree that the torso should be longer.

Beautiful... I like her serenity, and the objects in (above) her hands. I think this was a very good use of a filter, too, though I'm rather unusual in Woodchat in liking well-done filters. One thing to consider: giving some sort of background or ground surface, even with the deep blue around her. You also might want to think about showing an "up" side and a "down" side to her tentacles... adds a sense of dimension to be able to see one smooth side and one rough side coiling out and back and around. Good work!

The effects you've used make the artwork look ancient... part of a fresco in a forgotten temple...

awe this is awsome, the thumb nails give you no justice in your gallery this one looks like a blurred knot, but its fantastic up close i love that blue so tranquel and the use of celtic in there brings it all together, reminds me of one of them coper 3D-ish pop out pieces, probably a more scientif name for that but its got a metalic feel goin,Love it 2

Heh heh heh .... she's BALD! Cool! Her head actually looks like that of an octopus at the top. I appreciate those little touches. Her balls of magic are well designed. As for the fresco effect, at first I didn't like it, but it grew on me. The tentacles are well done and expressive. I would have made them a bit longer and narrower at the ends, but that's me.

I love how very unhuman she looks. If you know what octopi look like, you see so much of them in her. Her head is shaped perfectly for it, and the short torso makes the effect that much better. Stop thinking in human terms, people! She's an octopus that get a little "human" not a human who's trying to be an ocotpus. I'll cast my vote in with the people who like the ancient fresco look, i'ts great. The simple colors make it work. It's all around wonderful!
