SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sculpture: Zen Whimsey

Well, I had a year long dry spell.... then suddenly decided I needed a new shoulder pet for the Escondido Ren Faire last weekeend. This sculpture took me avout 8 days to make... mostly because I had to work overtime every evening that week. I was trying to get a curious, interested expression, like my cat when he sees a bird near the window. The face started out fine, but I think I made her body too relaxed to carry the mood.

Well, for some odd reason, the computer won't let me log on. grrr... oh well.
I love this little critter! It is such a character! I really don't think the body posture detracts at all from the expression on its face. If you have ever seen a cat drape itself over the arm of a chair and watch the rest of the world go by, the head works like nuts to keep up (as well as the tail!), while the body just lays there like a rag doll. The posture makes this little guy seem even more catlike!
I want one!!! ;D

She looks like she's just perked up, having seen something that caught her interest. It may not have as much energy as you had in mind, but I think it's the same spirit. And it's absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous. Wonderful!

Thats beautiful! ^_^ i think she still has a bit of a curious-like expression on her face, kinda like your about to pet her but she doesn't know you...Or you have something in your hand and she's like 'whats this?' 2 hehe, any ways, this is really, really marvelous ^_^

He looks really cute!!! 1 I just love the head and all of those scales!! I also just love the feet so much!!! ^^ I have been thinking about sculpting for sometime now but I don’t really know what sculpting stuff is best to use. What do you use for your sculptures? And what paint do you use also?
