SciFi and Fantasy Art: CrossOvers:2 Good loves hunt?

Second in the crossover series is the Svastika, Here Diane and Aphrodite of Greek/Roman mythology pose on the ancient India symbol 'Svastika' in Sanskrit for luck. But this symbol was used all over the world from Asia to Southamerica and in America by the Navajo tribes. In Sweden (that I know of at least) it was up untill 1930s used as a warning sign for high currant electricity. Then deranged 'historians' of the naziperiod managed to make this their symbol by constructing history to suit their means, wich is a shame really... (Im taking it back now if in a ever so small way, You should do the same) I made it imposible for neonazi use by the designs inability to be tilted 45 degreas just to be on the safe side, Im an illustrator not a pretantious artist after all, i.o.w. Im here to draw, not provoke for the hell of it! Diana of the Romans mythology was eventually conected to the goddess Arthemis of the Greek, She was here the good luck charm for hunting and protector of chasity (so its funny that she gets along so well with Aphrodite here;) Arthemis was usually followed by a deer of some kind, I just gave her this nice headpieace instead. Aphrodite on the other hand had the Roman equilient of 'Venus' and also Jewish 'Ishtar' (so its one big happy family them gods and goddesses;) I equiped Aphrodite with a urn containing the magic potion that make people fall for one an another, its wine for all I know really (you have to be intoxicated in some way to fall in love, yes?;) Well there is a lot more to be said on this subject, But I have to stop somewhere...

hi
i do not know if you actually knew this, but jewish people are very sensitive to svastikas because 6 million of us died for the cause of a megalomaniac insane person and his army who actually wear those symbols when killing inocent ppl, i know you explain that the svastica was made in India blablabla, but everyone knows it and remembers it as a 3rd Reich symbol and everytime i see one of them i cant do nothing else but remember the gas chambers and the dead famelic bodies, so i would like to ask you politely to take this pic down...
thank you.

:-) Andréas Oh replies: "Just a small linear note here, 60000000+ people did perish in WW2. (and that is without counting the Chinese who did not keep public records I think.. and all the "noncasulty victims") War is a shity industri... And read the image text again, Im sure you will see my point if you think about it, as the EW-moderators did Yael, this is not made to offend anyone."

xcuse me for my awful english...I'm an italian Occultist.
"Swasti" in Sanscrit means joyful happiness, good harvest, luck. Swastika is a Sun symbol. You can find in all European cultures, it's also in soarta, in an Etruschi tomb. During Reinassance, Mages and Alchemists carved swastikas on necklaces and objects. It is a Sun Symbol and you can find in Leo zodiacal sign. It is no more in leo's things by Nazism. Wasted by Hitler, swastika in India is still qan holy symbol, it means Sun and plenty of goods, ideas, love. The rays go around like the sun. there are swastikas with diffrent rays, the rays run opposite the real Sun's trip. They means the Gold Age, when Sun rises from West and goes down at east!
So I love it, and I'm sad that I can't use it because people think to Hitler and Mussolini!

Seems like everyone is ranting on merrily about everything in here, so I guess I'll keep this short and simply focus on the picture itself.
The details are nice, many but not excessive. I also like the design of the cross itself, the square-ish pattern. Both characters seem a bit too thin though. Well, that's all, so...

This is excellent - so much detail, and so nicely constructed. And good on ya for showing the good old swastika in a different light.

I think you have got a great illustrating style. The symbol of swastika had been also used in ancient Greece as a decorative pattern and had a reference to the circle of life so there is much more connection to the Greek godeshes and the symbol!

Umm...Where to start the 'constructive' critiquing? Nice legs, if creepy in length. Overall the pic is ugly. I bet ur one of those people who thinks their a good artist arent u? Well ur not. Burn. Urself with the pic. Its horrible.

:-) Andréas Oh replies: "  ...but what will really make you feel good you raving mad stalker is when I say this: I don't think I am, I know it! and it's NOT cool to write u & ur either, I bet U listen 2 95ish eurotechno too... *ha ha*"

The swastika You made on this pic is no symbol of luck. It´s the nazisymbol and nothing else!!
If you turn the symbol around you get the symbol of luck.
Otherwise; I think you´re good. Wish I could draw and paint... *jealous* 12

:-) Andréas Oh replies: "That's missinformation you know, this is the way its been looking for a very long time. (500 B.C..?) Besides it is a freestanding object that in any case could be seen from either direction. But thanks anyways."
