Too often, darkness and night are portrayed as having some association with evil (being a writer, I see a lot of this cliche amongst my peers, and have even been guilty of it a time or two), but this picture does just the opposite. It seems gentle, inviting, and (please, don't laugh) has a certain bit of romance about it. Either way, it's like seeing a world just beyond the reach of your perception, and not understanding anything but shadows. it's very well done, very detailed and very real. if i had nothing to do, i could easily stare at this for hours. Its a too simple for my likes now that i look at it more than a year later... if i were to do something similar again, i'd make sure it had allot more depth to the forground as well as a little more depth to the clouds.
