SciFi and Fantasy Art: Ahra - Desert Queen

I must admit... this image is by far my favourite. It was originally sketched using a model and, while it was my first true attempt at drawing metal, it didn't turn out so badly. For those who care, the reason her arm appears odd, is because it is angled back... perhaps I should have altered the shading? :\ Either way, however, she is pictured climbing over a wall... while a queen, she is the mistress of thieves afterall! ;)

Oh and incidentaly, I have also changed the original image to one of a better quality. I hope none of you will take advantage of the fact and steal my work. Maybe if I ask nicelly... pretty please? But seriously, ask and I shall allow it... don't ask and my wrath shall decend upon thee!

Actually, the realistic detail is equal throughout her body (after careful examination). Its the face that needs the realism. Other than that, this is the most realistic pencil-work i have ever seen

1)I think the ratio of her extended leg is off (too thin). This is probably the reason why the connection between her upper body and lower body is a bit odd. You can move the top line of her extended leg up a little to fix the ratio.
2)Those hands are way beyond awesome!
3)Hehe because those hands are too real, it throws the rest of the body into the relm of the sub-real. Mabey if her entire body has as much realistic detail as her hands, then her whole presence would be more equal.

I like the way you have a lot of detail in Ahra, but the background is devoid of shading and detail. It really draws the attention to where it needs to be. Great work! 1

Yeah, it is probably my favorite one here as well. I really like the body art. BTW, if you want to "fix" how her arm looks, make a copy of this picture to test this out on first. Take a pencil and add a little shadow to what would be the underside of her arm in that position. Do it lightly, I think just a hint is all you will need. Use a semi-circular motion back and forth so as to "cup" the underside of the part of the arm you are shading. Do this following as best you can the contour of the muscles. Is any of this making any sense? Good luck.

"whistles" She looks like Evangeline Lily, who plays Kate in "Lost". So I mean she looks very, very good. Eyeball is right, she has the most beautiful hands I've seen on Elfwood.
