This was drawn using a live model... with, of course, a few changes of expression. I'm rather proud... the legs and feet are perhaps the best (and possibly only) I've drawn so far.
Regardless that, however, this image was a study in not only facial, but also bodily expression. It's meant to convey a sense of depression and anger... but above all, and effort to appear cheerful for the benefit of others. How many times have you had to wear such a mask?
One final note, for those who care, this image does have a background. It is the blackness behind her. Let me explain. She is sitting on a small rocky protrusion within the dead of night. A light has caught her from the side, highlighting her features, but it does not reach into the darkness beyond, where a large valley stretches below a mountain... ...Anyway, I hope that explains the apparent lack of scenery. :)
Update: I've altered the picture with Paint Shop Pro, so it is smooth, as skin should be. I've also added some sort of a background, though those of you who may find it hard to believe I actually drew this, will probably consider it makes it more of a photograph. Either way though, you can still see the original picture here. I seem to have misplaced the cliff.
Aww that is so sad. Sometimes when I'm upset and someone is trying to make me smile I do just so they will leave me alone and I can be by myself. You drew this really well and I really like it. Of course I have liked a lot of your other drawings as well but I kinda like having the first comment and this one caught my eye. I wish I had a model to do some of my stuff, as far as realism goes, you have got the talent. I am so jealous of you right now! Keep it up please! I can't get better without someone like you giving me examples of what looks good.
Oh, very very pretty. Good feet. And *I* really like the wings, personally. They make her look like a depressed-type of faerie. Also the expression on her face is very good.
Absolutely...excellent feet! (Great thumb too!) Don't be shy with the wings. Dare yourself! I often trace over an outlined sketch to try different wings on my subject, before settling on something...like trying on clothes. That way, you won't have to worry about mistakes. Go for it!
It is soo cool! But it is a pity there isn't a background, because in my opinion it just looks as though you cut out a photo. The picture looks so REAL! Please do a background. *begsonherknees* *greetings*

I am quite sure this IS a photography if I compare it with your other drawings.... Ania Wedracki replies: "I can assure you it isn't. The quality and style of the picture often depend on my mood and the amount of effort I put into the image. This is the sort of style I love and would like to do more often, but am usually too lazy to bother! Consequently, the type of style used in the Ahra image, is more common for me as it is faster."

Your links don't work! *sob* Ania Wedracki replies: "Ahh! I never noticed! Well I fixed the original link, but I seem to have misplaced the cliff. Sorry!"
