SciFi and Fantasy Art: I Dream of Living Past (II)

something about the elements in the original image kept drawing me back to it, so I figured I could use the opportunity to showcase my progress. There are many things I like about this version better than the original-- the way the hair blens INTO the knotwork, and the celtic border in and of itself. I like her expression better, too: it's softer, less proud. The colors didn't turn out as good in this version, however, and I'm having a hard time fixing that. I also think that the background in general is a lot less effective than it originally was, but that's art. It's technically impossible for someone at my level to re-produce themselves exactly... and who wants to do that, anyway?

The way hair turns into knotwork is amazing!2 And the sad mood is great too...

Oh, I like that border a lot! And the raven is a nice touch. And you gotta love thick eyelashes! The only thing I don't like about this pic is that her mouth is a tad too close to her nose. I think that if there was a bit more space in there, it would look better.

This is incredible. One of my favorites. I really like the old one too, but I think this is definitely, as you termed it, "progress." Breathtaking. I especially love the nose, and the way the hair melts into the knotwork. 2

This picture echos deep, resonating magic! She is beautiful and, yes, soft too. A powerful image, rendered gently... Something to be proud of! 2

I do perfer this version to the older one. She is better. she looks younger, softer where as the older one looks like her oldeer sister or something

I love the sensitivity of the shading, the blend of colours and how the border continues into her hair. Her tattoo is pretty cool too.

wow and wow and WOW! I love everything about this picture - especially the lips and eyelashes and bird on her cheek and the way her hair is and the way it blends into the celtic knotwork and the knotwork itself and - ahh, erm, maybe I'd be better off to just leave it at "I love everything about this picture" ...?
