SciFi and Fantasy Art: Halloween Lady

And I Will Use Every (Gothic) Crayon In the Box...

Closely related to the late-night-sugar-induced 'cutsie' globlins (my oftentimes muses), I've discovered, are the later-night-cherry-coke-induced 'weird/scary/gothic' goblins. Guess which variety decided to visit me this time?

Colored pencils and crayons and silver ink and all that fun stuff. Not meant to be taken too seriously.
(August 2000)
Kass added the border. I tweaked the color. Questions, comments?

This is almost dream-like to me. I like it bestest of what I've seen here so far. The composition is great. I love the circles. Her wings form a perfect frame for her body..Her skirt fits....The colours are beautiful.

:-) Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "the BESTEST! ::giggles:: thank you!"

I have to admit, out of all your "every crayon" pictures, I enjoy this one the best. Maybe it's because it's not so saccharin coated with cutesie bunnies that I feel the need to scream. I dunno, I just enjoy it. Good job! ~*~ Rebecca ~*~

:-) Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "I like this one the best, too. It's one of the very few pieces of "dark" artwork I've ever done. I'm itching to go back and re-do her someday more realistically, though. Who knows? I might..."

This is so good! I like the darkness of the piece. You make a good illustrator.

:-) Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: ":21igh:: thank you! i wish I could draw her again and tell her story, but whenever I approach the subject, she just smiles and crackles the electricity between here hands, so I back away slowly and decide to wait until she's in a better mood. Hasn't happened yet."

lol. I like the title. 12 And this is a really nifty picture! You've got some really refreshing perspectives happening here, I think. Just something a little different.

Well, that does it. Everyone said everything I was gunna say. um. Hooray for Cherry Coke, the goblins which it does summon, and crayons and silver pens. without it, my art would never be.

the first thing that struck my eye- Excelent use of purple which is a hard color to use.

Cherry coke induced!? lol, now that is something new, I've done a lot of artwork through Code Red Mountain Dew at teh usual time of 3-6 am when I should be in bed sleeping!!

This is actually interesting. Her dress is an unusual design and well she looks cute (don't hit me) with that little sneer and her hand movements. 1 Lol, okay, its late. . . 2180 and I've got to get to work at 5...man I need to plan my days/nights a little better...

I really like this piece - it's got that lovely dark gothic feel to it, and that look in her eye is wicked . . . ::grins:: The background is excellent, too - adds a lot to the pic - and I'm quite fond of the magic fire leaping from one hand to the other.
