There are few people left in the world today who remember how to summon dragons with their music, and even fewer still who are willing to teach.... or to learn.
pity.
Navah Rosenweig over in Wyvern's Library wrote a fantastic companion story to this picture. Navah is a simply fantastic authoress and if you've got a moment, you should go check it out here.
I like this one a lot. <- A bit blunt yeah but I do, the colours you used for the two figures are relaly nice, and so is the background, it's a nice contrast to some of your darker works..with all the blood and stuff *meep* It's very pretty and it conveys quite a nice little bit of emotion and feeling *claps* much congrats Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "Thank you! I'll tell you a secret, I loved drawing this and can't wait to do more in a similar... vein, shall we say. Even I get bored drawing vampires all the time."
I can hear music, too. It's Guys and Dolls. But maybe that's because I'm playing in the pit orchestra for the school production. I'd probably hear something really cool if I could quit listening to Guys and Dolls. Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "Titanic, Guys and Dolls... I was hearing Don McLean's "Vincent" when I drew this. I love drawings that's make you feel something..."
You can see she's concentrating on summoning the dragons, it's in her posture and frown. Is the little boy learning from her? This piece has a lot of emotion. I like it. Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "Some people see him as very intensly concentrating, but I intended him to look bored and uninterested, like a little six-year old who'd much rather be watching cartoons that out with his sister, learning a dying art. It seems I didn't capture his disinterest well enough to contrast with her, but thank you for your comment. I still love this picture."
Hello hello- I shall have great fun writing a story to go with this piece! Reading your replys to comments is helping me shape a concept of the picture, too, in addition to what's already fermenting in my head... Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "about my comments- I'm never given enough space above the picture to say everything I want to say about a piece, so I love that I'm able to comment on my comments, because it allows me to blab more. Keep in touch, I look forward to seeing th results of our trade."
I love this piece - as soon as I saw it it sparked a story which is sitting writtin in probably the shortest amount of time I EVER wrote anything in. Let me know how you want to work the wyvern's trade. Oh, and I like this version better than the redux - I feel like the softer colours capture the mood of the piece better.
Have I mentioned that I love how you draw dragons? And that violin looks wonderful!

If you ever see this comment, can you please, please, please do this again in ink? I love theme/content and every about this pic except for the child-like colouring in. It looks like it was rushed, maybe you were getting bored with it? I'm sorry for being blunt and i don't expect you to take any of my advice seriously as i haven't proved my own abilities on the net, but i can see this piece done so much better. Please? *meek high voice* Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "Oh, gosh, this picture has got to be 5 years old... I'd love to re-do it someday, but I dont draw much anymore, even though I could probably do much better today... I've grown a lot since I did this. "
