| 13 Dec 2000 | Hannah Lee Fritz | Trolloc-y? How in the heck...? Well, anyhow. It's just swell. The colors are fabulous and even. The facial expression is stunningly appropriate, and I jsut love the stylizied feel about it. All the banners are done wonderfully - must've taken a lot of time... | |
| 13 Dec 2000 | Kass Fireborn | What a fabulous picture! The coloring is just perfect. The face is one of your best ones yet, and I love the helmet and how the bound hair is poking out the back. The style of armor you chose is great and I don't think it looks Trolloc-y at all! | |
| 30 Dec 2000 | Norma Peters | Beautiful! Admirable coloring and I adore the way you composed this. Everything pulls together so well. | |
| 21 Jan 2001 | Tasha Kotraseva aka Isca Lox | Nice! I like the subtle colouring and the armour is great. | |
| 26 Jan 2001 | Rene 'Sequential Tart' Alexander | Great design on the armor! And great job on the face- she looks like she's about to win. > | |
| 21 Oct 2001 | Beth vegh | Very nice. Great detail. Yes, this is definitely your style.
from Jae: You know, it took me a while to find "my" style, which is one of the reasons I'm still in love with this image. It was the first time I could honestly call something my own. Thanks for your comment, Beth.
| 22 Oct 2001 | Coen de Moor | I like it a lot. Good compostion. I like all the banners, because they suggest a lot going on that you don't see. Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen replies: "like she's going off to war, yes. thank you!" | |
| 18 Jun 2002 | Jennie Seay | You have a great eye for composition. Your pieces have a balance and rhythm to them, and combined with your sense of color it makes them really come alive. I would suggest getting a book on armor for reference (or make a stash of online images) - it really helps to have reference when you're making the metal bits look dimensional. Helms in particular can be such a pain.
I think the horn is my favorite part of this one.
