SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Funeral-boat of Boromir

'Then I saw, or it seemed that I saw, a boat floating on the water, glimmering grey, a small boat of a strange fashion with a high prow, and there was none to row or steer it. An awe fell on me, for a pale light was round it. But I rose and went to the bank, and began to walk out into the stream, for I was drawn towards it. Then the boat turned towards me, and stayed ist pace, and floated slowly by within my hand's reach, yet I durst not handle it. It waded deep, as if it were heavily burdened, and it seemed to me as it passed under my gaze that it was almost filled with clear water, from which came the light; and lapped in the water a warrior lay asleep.'

Every time I think of that part in LotR i´m in a sad mood. But when I saw this pic a shiver runs down my back.Yes, it's a sad scene.

The sky in this piece is gorgeous... this is one of my favorites of yours. I think the entire thing is well done, with the moistness of the sky and glow of the moon being especially remarkable. I think the reason why I like this one so much has to do with the composition and the richness of the colors... 2 Great work. I, too, prefer watercolor to any other type of paint.Thank you very much.

The watercolour style of your work, with the little glow around the characters, is perfect beyond belief for this work!Thank you very much.

This picture is so sad. Faramir and Boromir had such a close bond. It must have been devastating.Yeah, Faramir must have had a very rough time back then.

This is a fantastic rendition of an epic saga, and the particular scene you chose although sad it is very nicely done, and the color is also nice did you use water color by chance.Yes, it's watercolour.

This is heart touching to me.It's beautiffully done and it captures the feelings of the moment.I did not like Boromir much at the beginning; but as the story developed and I learned the truth in his character I found my self respecting him a lot.He was indeed human, but with more virtues than faults.
And you are by far the best LOTR artist I have ever met.
