SciFi and Fantasy Art: His lord's will

'Then all were silent. But at length Faramir said: 'I do not oppose your will, sire. Since you are robbed of Boromir, I will go, and do what I can in his stead – if you command it.' 'I do so,' said Denethor. 'Then farewell!' said Faramir. 'But if I should return, think better of me!' 'That depends on the manner of your return,' said Denethor.'

I looked through your entire gallery. Faramir is by far your best and obviously fav char, and you do him so well. This scene is exactly how i saw it in the book. The look on his face spells how he feels exactly. I remember not liking Denethor when i first read it because of the way he treated him.
You whole gallery is a thrill to look at, and i thank you for your amazing imagination
*first comment two step*Thank you very much for your comment.

This is the moment in the book that always makes me cry.
Faramir is not my favourite LOTR character (and the film just made it worse... eh), but here, in this scene, he is absolutely great, so heroic and so human at the same time. It is perhaps the most interesting thing about him - being the less-loved son and the unlikely hero - at least in his father's eyes - but ready to die for... love? honour? acceptance? revenge?... hm, this could be the beginning of a long discussion that does not belong here.
Anyway, the way you depict him makes me love him. You bring him to life. Wonderful, wonderful work.

Mmmmmm...

Being one of the large fandom of your Faramir, I have to say that you've delivered again, brilliantly...lovely!!

I won't start being all fangirlish about the haunted look in his eyes,...but...

*notices* Ooh! Imrahil! Close-up of Imrahil!

Thank you for your art, Anke...

Houki:...holy Shiiate prayer mats, what did you use to do this with? It looks like watercolor, but NO ONE is that good with water color...For Left-Sock's sake look at the texture of the cloth! The shadow! The hair! Omfingg...*passes out cold on the rug*

*le gasp!*

.. I cried. Okay, I'll put it more accurately: I BAWLED. When I read it, and when I watched it. This is truely a heartbreaking moment for Faramir.. to think, how he managed to go on after being so easily cast aside by his FATHER.. *wipes tear*

youve got to be the cockiest artist on elfwood. Your paintings arnt even all that special. I woder why every one likes you so much. I dont think you will ever be much of an artist untill you learn how do do real expresions.

Gee luke, that’s a bit harsh.

Any how, I really like Faramir’s tunic. For some reason it never occurs to me to imagine him in anything but green or black or brown... I have such a limited imagination....

When I read and watched this section, I cried, too. I love the angle of Faramir’s face in this one. It’s perfect.
