SciFi and Fantasy Art: Pippin and Faramir

What catches my eye on this picture is Farmir's clothing, the detail and the way the frayed edges look real.
Can you tell me if you paint on watercolour paper, or in illustration board? And do you use masking fluid for areas you want to stay white or do you just leave things white with a very fine brush?I paint on watercolour paper (hot-pressed, half-coated) with fine brushes. Masking fluid I use only seldom, for things like stars.

I am so envious of your abilities with water colors i could bite my own head off. Grrrrrrrrr. This is a great piece. I just wish i was able to illustrate my own stories...Most likely you're able to do things with language I can only dream of.

OK, I know it's hardly original, but this drawing made me fall in love with Faramir too, so please let me join the club of his worshipers! He is sooooo handsome and his expression so tired, almost resigned, and yet so proud and disciplined and dignified. You are amazingly talented to be able to portray all these in a drawing! I love your work in general, the colours and the whole atmosphere are really ethereal and fairy - tale like. But your Faramir in particular is simply perfect. Just one question - do you draw from real? Does such a gorgeous guy exist in real life (and, if yes, can I please have his phone number)?I must disappoint you, there isn't a real-life version of this Faramir. If there were, I'd give his phonenumber to noone

There are definately too few Faramir scenes in the movie. Are you sure there isn't a model for that Faramir...

Anyway back to reality, or well cyberspace anyway. I really like the pictue, Faramir, Gandalf and the other soldiers are great, but I think Pippin's helmet wings are a little off. I think they are good wings but they look different to the other wings.They're supposed to look different, because they're decribed differently in the book.

You know, something makes me wonder if Peter jackson looked at your art for ideas. Actually, I wouldn't be suprised...Nor would I

Wow. O_o that's really godd. I like how Faramir's like "waiit a minute...I saw someone like you before...OH YEAH!" Wonderful lights and darks by the way(side) *tee hee giggle SNORT*

By the way, to the comment on the top, maybe anonymous wanted to write "Pippin's", not only Pippin. That could explain that problem with "facing the front", couldn't it?
And Faramir looks really exhausted. What about Gandalf? I like him. He looks very gandalf-like!

I love it! The pic is detailed, yet still has enough of an artistic haze that it gives it that magical feel.
