She's right, that is the only problem with this piece. Your gorgeous watercolour style remains intact however a small anatmoy problem can often draw the eye more than the brilliance everywhere else. Her neck is rather masculine and there is too much definition along her jawline making it seem as if her head doesn't attach. Its a shame minor problems glare, but if you looked at my work you'd see how when theres lots of major problems, the art turns into a mess. Your art is so brilliant, well done. *bows*Thanks. I'll definitely be more careful about female necks in the future.
| 23 Jul 2004 | Claire 'Steelsheen' Grebniew | Hehehe... I think that's Eomer in the background thinking, "What's he think he's doing with my sister?" Hee hee... anyway, this is great as usual. Thanks a lot. | |
| 21 Sep 2004 | Picky person | I noticed how everyone's staring at them. Why is that? Funny Thought: Aragorn suddenly turned to them all, saying, "Yo! Can a guy and a girl get some privacy, please?" Eowyn looks a little like she's about to lean in and give him a kiss. Or it could be that she has the feeling that Grima is watching them somehow.Who knows? | |
| 19 Nov 2004 | Patrick Cowart | I dunno..Eowyn Looks kinda manly.. Its elusive why, but she looks slightly like a guy! Other than that, I love this. The colors and the skill with which you've created it is wonderful!Well, she passed for a Rider, so she wouldn't have looked extremely feminin. | |
| 28 Nov 2004 | Brandi Weaver | I'm in awe of your style. It's really wonderful! I'm going to go gape at the rest of your gallery now. | |
| 10 Dec 2004 | Hermy | wonderful...I am lost for words.. (anyway I am a rider and I am definitely not manly.. --') | |
| 8 Jan 2005 | Anonymous | Absolutely amazing. I love how you drew the characters as you imagined them, not as how they are in the movie. Your watercolor details are amazing; I especially adore the hair and the way you give Eowyn highlights/shading in her hair and make the whole thing look just... natural. True; her neck is a tad bit long but previous commentors have mentioned that many times, but I didn't really notice all that much at first because I was so busy noticing all the other wonderful details | |
| 30 Jul 2005 | Crystal Flinn | I like her long neck, it looks very elegant, like a swan. Between that and the wild, intense look in her eyes, her appearance seems to have a delicate balance between masculine and feminine that is very appropriate for her character and personality. | |
| 21 Jul 2006 | White Lady | *breathless* whoa... your style just blows me away.... i'm completely obsessed with eowyn and everything about her, and i've never, ever, ever, yet found another artist who does her as well as you. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
and i don't agree about the neck comment above. it looks okay. She bent over, kinda, cause she's feeling a lot of things, and its scary... and she's acknoweledging aragorn, as well, so it would kind of be like a half-bow. i dunno, but it works. and, yeah, why is everyone staring at them??? that's kinda weird, but oh well.
acctually, what i was going to say, was i thought that maybe the Stirrup-cup was from the scene at Harrowdale??? i dunno, maybe im confused. i'd like to think i know most stuff about lotr (well, at least about this kind of stuff. i detest all elves with a passion, and have yet to read the silmarillion, because i hate elves and don't care about the valar.) but do more Eowyn art!!!!!!!! pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaase??????????? THANKS SO MUCH
