SciFi and Fantasy Art: The fostering of Tuor

Therefore Annael led his small people to the caves of Androth, and there they lived a hrad and wary life, until Tuor was sixteen years of age and was become strong and able to wield arms, the axe and bow of the Grey-elves; and his heart grew hot within him at the tale of the griefs of his people, and he wished to go forth and avenge them on the Orcs and Easterlings. But Annael forbade this.

Beautiful illustration. It looks perfect for a front book cover or "Elven eye candy" if you will. Beautifully and masterfully done. Keep up the good work, I cannot commend you fully on just how well you've done.Thank you very much.

This is really beautiful; the voice of nature escapes from the picture and comes to us all alive; and we listen to it as hears one the cry of the winter out of his window.
Tuor is great as he holds his longbow.
Yet - forsaken us, Anke-Katrin, why have you? Why do you no longer answer to our calls?
Take this not of bad intention..., please.Ah, never fear, I am still around, and hope to be able to "answer to your calls" more frequently again soon.

I love all your work, the detail in it is amazing, you have real talent 2 well done on mods choice! But shouldn't some/most of your work be under fan art? No, because it's book-inspired and not based on movie-images.

Everytime I see a new painting of yours it continues to impress me! I really like the ones that you've done that take place in spring and fall. The colours are beautifuly done. I remember doing watercolour in highschool... didn't go over to well for me 8My first attempts were ... strange as well. Watercolour takes a lot of practise.

I love rowans (isn't that the name of that tree with those red berries in English?). They are that one thing in this picture, that create a certain magic.Yes, it's rowans. And birches.

I was wondering on which image I comment first... and since I'm staring at this one for a long time I made up my mind 2 I don't know the story, but I like the trees very much. And I like that we can easily drive our eyes away from Tuor and roam around the image, I mean, the image is not strongly focused on him. I like this kind of attitude in a painting... And I love the gradient luminous background behind the barks and branches as well. It gives the picture a very pleasant feeling. Lots of congratulations 2
