SciFi and Fantasy Art: Under the Sea

I love this picture so much, even though it needs a background! I cut out that really annoying red ball on the side of the page that I thought looked really bad. I like it a lot better now!

The tail is just perfect the way it is, and if you made a big pretty tail it would take all the attention away from the rest of the picture. Yes, Anna you have to make a background or I shall kill you. Or I could just watch over your shoulder every second waiting for you to freak out and give in . I'm so devilish aren't I2

Wow! O.o manda had a brain fart. Too much talk about the tail... lol I was just thinkin, "man if u remove that nifty floating gem that chicks tails probably twice the size of her." I think it's pretty, and you only have to add the background if u desire to.

15 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "Yeah, she does have a big tail. But I like mermaids with big tails, not the little tiny ones."

The vivid green of the vines, the way the hair flows upward with the current of the water, the shading on the orbs are all spectacular. I think you are right about the background needing something. I would like to see how it would look if the sea was shaded varying hues of bluish-green.

1 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "I really really like the hair too! Thank you!"

I really like this picture as a whole... As you say, there should be some sort of background, but nothing too distracting either I think, since it might just take away from it more than completing it.
I like the tail as it is, too.

1 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "Yes I agree, a background that is not to over powering. Thanx for the kind words2"

Oh, wow! I love this! The shading is awesome, too; better then I could ever do, thanks to my lack of patience...

14 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "  Haha! You have lack of patients too ^_^ Yay for being a lazy artist! Glad you like it2"

I love mermaids and I wish I was one.

3 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "I would freakin' love to be a mermaid!! But I suppose being a human isn't all that bad."

It doesn't need a background on perpess. The colours are very bright and it gives the picture a 'modern romantic' flow. Your colouringwork is awesome, and if you'll make a background some day, it could be that the bright colours on the background lead the attention away form the lovely concepts you made here. I would leave the picture just as it is right now. Simple but very nice!!

8 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "Well...I'm sorry to say this, but my baby sister got a hold of the picture. Everything got scribbled on. There was even a half finished background on it too8 Thank you for the nice words though! "

this one is my favorite, I love how you coloured the bubble and the mermaid! I think you should colour some of Your other drawings

11 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "Thank you for commenting! Yeah, I agree that I need more color in my gallery. Which ones would you suggest I color?"
13 Jan 2006:-) Rachel Lawlor
Oh, I love this one! The coloring is fantastic. And her position is so great!

15 Anna Leigh Symonds replies: "Thank you Rachel!"
