SciFi and Fantasy Art: Birgitte the Emerald Fairy

Did this one for my mom for her Birthday. Tried a few new things on her wings and ended up liking how they turned out. **Update** 8/31/02 She got a little bit of a touchup and a background (which is a heavily edited photo).

Oooh love the way you draw the hair =)

Very beautiful coloring. Great pose and facial expression. I love her hair and the wings. I also like how you drew her face and her holding the teddy. Her body is a little to straight and skinny. That is about all that takes away from the drawing's effect. Overall I think it is a very wonderful drawing. Great job and keep up the dedication. 2

:-) Anneliese "CalicoTiger" Stehwien replies: "She's drawn very thin and w/o much body curvature on purpose. Most of my faeries (with the exception of the windling) are/will be drawn that way ^_^"

love the face and hair, the teddy is too cute for words....but whats up with her right (our left) thigh? is she wearing a skin toned band around her leg? BTW, I like the background too, green and purple work well together.

Hmm... I really like her hair, and her face is cute, but her actual body is kind of throwing me off. I can see that you were trying to do perspective on the right leg, but it came out a little too stark. If you erase a bit of the circle, like the very top, so you can just see the lines coming up past her knees, that may fix it. She's still adorable though, and it reminds me I am supposed to do a similar picture for my aunt that has breast cancer--only her teddy bear is red. heh 2

KA-WA-II!!

The hair is absolutely LOVELY! And the wings... SO CUTE! Adorable! ^_^ Teddy bear~! Me likes teddy bears!

Background, in this instance, really is done most justice in the thumbnail, imo. Which doesn't really happen very often.
But there it just looks SO much like flowers, much more so than in the actual size pic.
Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful piece still. But I just noticed that. ^_^;

I like it, but the proportions are a bit odd...
I suggest you think about the presence of a rib cage and hips/pelvic bone.... And her leg is weird.
I still love her, though.
