SciFi and Fantasy Art: Wyllow's darkmorph, in different style and pure.

hrmm. well, i think i'll be redoing this one. see what happened was i doodle-sketched this and was just going to upload the sketch to my site. so i take a picture of it with the webcam cuz i have no scanner here in san diego...but then my NEW WACOM TABLET (yay) lured me into colouring it up and stuff. so here's the result. she's an aether sylph, here. or a weresylph. i don't like the face, and the wing structure isn't right, plus the shoulders are too wide. i've already fixed all that in my sketchbook of course, so come back for the redo. (sorry for not uploading in so long, been away from home and all)

She looks kool! the odd perpostions give her a anime like look almost. The colors are neat too. Do keep them comeing.

"odd proportions give an anime look"? WTF? Ugh...how often must people misunderstand what makes a style look the way it does? Sometimes the proportions are odd, yes, but not uneven. Anyhow, now that that's out of the way, yeah, if anything is wrong here, it's the underlying sketch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the muddiness that some sections of color have comes from smudges or shading on the sketch, right? Do redo, yes. (And I gotta get me one of those tablets...'cept I wouldn't have room to keep my flight stick on my desk then...)

hey thanks for the comments ian. but her colouring is the way her skin really is. it's how her description tells it, also. the sketch was done with one of them drafting mech-pencils so there was no smudging.

Actually, I wouldn't complain on the shoulders. I'd advise you make her hips and waist a little more substantial. Why, cause I -like- the shoulders! Nice coloring, though the shadowing looks a little timid. Maybe more contrast?

Whether she needs redoing or not, she is enchanting as she is!
