SciFi and Fantasy Art: Child's Death

inspired, by all things, by a line from Barbara Kingsolver's poem 'Waiting for the Invasion' (no offense to her - good writer, just never thought a picture like this could come from her writing) 'Every child has waited for death angels'
He glares at you as he gently picks the limp body up in his arms, her blood staining his white robes, a slowly dripping river of accusations. His form fades into the smoke, his part done as Death for the children.

The first thing I thought of from this pic was Lestat and Claudia the night he made her a vamp in "Interview"

Wonderful! The thing that makes this one so scary to some is the brilliant colouring. Cause of the hair and the blood the rest is far mysterious than what's really happening, I love that.

This is so beautiful... and scary. I really like the look in his (her?) eyes, the coloring and the shadin of the robe.

Wow, this is really powerful and it strikes the heart. Of course, I'm not a mother, and I haven't lost a sibling or relative, but after seeing children on tv who are killed by murdering rapists, or children killed in war, this picture is actually somewhat comforting. It's a comforting thought to know that there is something there to hold them and comfort them after they go through so much pain.

I think this picture is totaly awsome! Really good. The look in the face of the face of the angel is almost exactly like that of a greiving mother. It has an awful sense of anguish surrounding it. To me this picture shows what mankind is, death. I would love to have this up on my wall!

This piece is absolutely gorgeous, and very moving. I love the expression on the angel's face, looking at the viewer as if to say, "How could you let this happen?". Beautiful.

I actually came across this piece quite a while ago, but recently lost the link. I've been looking for it for days, and am very glad I found it again.

Keep up the excellent work!

Wonderful! This picture is very intense. You got that gaze and the pose and the composition all perfect! *goes back to stare at it some more time*
