SciFi and Fantasy Art: Faerie Guide

I was home sick on Christmas eve '99 doing this picture, somewhat inspired by other faery illustrations---I just had to do one too! Like the dragon is aggression, I would say that the faerie is very feminine. India ink and crowquill pen.

I agree that it's really detailed and beautiful in it's own way. I like the depth in the woman and the 'nature' kind of feel to her. I think you've brought across the feminine feel quite nicely too 2

Like someone mentioned above, this looks like an old book illustration. I love pictures with borders like this. Excellent work.

This is beautiful. So romantic kind of, so sweet. Ah, I just adore fairies. Never did find any at the bottom of the garden, which always disappointed me a lot as a kid. Kind of disappoints me now as well, but I've learned to live with it!

this one is my FAVORITE...aside from the 'neckid angel'...i love the way you have portrayed the woman as very thin and delicate...and i like her hair as well...i must say that you do better on the proportions when hips and downward are not included in the picture...this is one of your IMMACULATE drawings...astounding...

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "thank you for your comments. this is one of my older pictures where I was using a crow quill pen (dip in the ink well rather than fine point)...it's actually a large picture. I damaged it when I thought I would add color. I have that final result in my webpage http://www.geocities.com/amethystaj.index.html ((That is also where all my not-good- enough- for Elfwood pictures live *S*))"

So well, and done with a crow quill pen. I'm impressed. It's beautiful, not much else can be said.....*looks in awe*

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Thank ye, Wish I could locate what I've done with that crow quill pen though!!"

I absolutely love this drawing. My step father used to draw with quill pen, he did some of the most amazing things with them, and I believe that you are the only one that I have seen that even comes close to catching him. I am in awe of your talent. Perhaps the snake could have been left out, due to the fact that I am terrified of them, but other than that, I love this. Plese keep drawing more of your beautiful art. You have inspired me. Thank You.
