SciFi and Fantasy Art: Myah welcomes the summer

I started working on this doll a few months ago. I've been experimenting with different mediums to create the wings, eyes and hair (she has real human hair). I thought she looked like a Myah. Since early tomorrow brings the summer solstice I thought it would be appropriate that she welcomes the summer. I don't feel this is complete. I would like to do more with the dress. This is the same doll that I used in 'Dreams of a Faerie' posted earlier.(June 2006; polymer clay; I took these pictures)

You did a really good job here! You said you've been experimenting on the wings....I just discovered Fantasy Film that one uses with Liquid Sculpy (TLS), so I pass that tidbit onto you. The dress is lovely!

Cali

PS, you can purchase Fantasy Film on e-bay I think, and try some of the ooak doll sites for more tips and materials!~

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Thanks for the tip. I do have a bottle of liquid Sculpy, but I never really got into it. I'll check out the Fantasy Film. I have been looking more at different types of acetates. This set of wings I'm very pleased with. I should have taken a picture of the back. I coated the back of the wings with a TON of glitter.I really can't wait to start a new doll. Thanks!"

Meeeee too! I love the little details on her face, and the flowers in her hair were a nice touch.

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Thanks (The flowers kind of help to hold her hair in place--real hair is kind of stiff and likes to stand up2 )"

Oooo, I think I see a mod's choice in *this* one's future!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Oh, That would be awesome! Thanks!"

This is a really sweet figurine. I love the way you did her outfit. The one thing I am unsure about is her facial expression. Perhaps it is simply the photograph but it seems like her bottom lip is in a bit of a pout. She looks a bit worried. Still, she is very charming, a real gem.

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "It's kind of a bland expression a slight pout Maybe she's a bit of a "B----". I refuse to use molds or anything and I gave up with paint.I am thinking the next doll I create will have a smile on her. Thanks!"

The only thing I would add to the dress is maybe some trim with the colors of her flower crown. Otherwise, it's perfect the way it is!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Yea! breating clothes for my dolls is a big downfall of mine. I do have all kinds of beads and ribbons to work with. I just thought I would hurry along a dress so I could take advantage of the day and take these pictures--Thanks!"

I love this, amazing! I adore her facial expression and pose and her wings are beauiful! 1

I particularly like the wings, and I think her slightly grumpy expression gives her character ("Take the photo already! You think I have time to just sit her and pose for you?!" ^_^). Nice work!
