SciFi and Fantasy Art: PassionThere really isn't a story behind this. I would be happy to hear what kind of story others can make up about the characters here. I'll discuss the approach of this drawing instead. Sometimes I like to start a picture with no clue what I am going to draw. I just draw. I put in about an hours worth of work here. I can see some off-proportions that I won't worry about. The male figure I'll call a gargoyle rather than a demon. I don't want images of him being employed by Satan. When I got to his face that is when I decided to add the girl. I thought about his eyes being open and cat like and fangs protruding from his lips then I decided to soften his expression. The girl just seemed to be there for the contrast. Now it looks like she has tamed a beast and brought him to his knees with her gentleness. Again, I approached this with no intent. Just a blank sheet of paper and a blank mind. May 23, 2002. Fine tip marker. | |

| 25 Jun 2004 | Keisha Lawrence | ever read the dark jewels trilogy? by anne bishop? i just thought of this looking at the icon, but yeah... like there's this blonde, and her lifespan is basically the trilogy (well, until her mid-twenties, i believe) but she has the awesome friend/guardian person (really a big brother role although he technically serves her) named Lucivar (an eyrien, with the wings although not those legs)... and he's saetan's son, which is interesting, but yea. the relationships obviously not quite the same, but the chars. did remind me of that. beaut. job, btw. on like, all your pictures. i hope 2 practice coloring this summer so that i might refine my style a tad more. | 25 Jun 2004 | Kitti | I think she should have lost her sight to save him from a gargoyle slayer and his heart of stone warmed and loved her. now she loves him back and he works to get her sight back for her. Audrey S. Totire replies: "...and what will she say when she sees his face---*G*" | |

| 24 May 2005 | Heather ´FaerieGoddess´ Lilley | It kinda looks like she's a healer. And she might've been healing his wounds. Like...maybe she found him all battered up, and over time healed him, and now they're best friends...maybe even lovers. Could fit in...Maybe he was battling good (used to be evil) and she kinda...not converted him, just made him see the good in everything.
I really like this piece by the way, not to ramble on. It's very beautiful, and I wish I could have a copy.

| 10 Jan 2006 | M.Botelho | Ok, I stared at it for a few seconds and here's the story that popped into my brain: So, she's a young maid, from a wealthy family, but she's lonely. She wants a friend. There is a stone gargoyle outside her window. She talks to it, it's all she has afterall. Like how kids talk to there teddy bears and barbie dolls. She cries to it, she laughs to it. She tells it her secrets. She keeps wishing it was real, so it could talk back to her. Then, one night, on a full moon, at midnight, she climbs over her balcony, onto the ledge. She steps closer to her gargoyle friend. She's never done that before, but maybe, just maybe, if she wishes hard enough, he'll come alive and fly her away. She climbs onto his back, and after many tears and whispers in his ear, she falls asleep. The stars and the creatures of the night watch as she sleeps. She wakes just as the sun rises. She gives her gargoyle friend a kiss and cries a little again. "you know" she says, "you're my only friend". She gives him another kiss and one of her tears streams down his face. She climbs back into her room and has a usual day. That night, when she ventures onto her balcony as she always does, he's there, waiting for her. She's frightend at first, but when she realizes it's her beloved friend, she is over joyed. "your love broke the spell." He tells her. "I am free." Now they both know they have no normal future ahead with each other, but love prevails. He does take her away, to a lovely little forest and yeah, they live happily ever after! Beautiful pic btw hee hee ! Audrey S. Totire replies: "So do you have a Wyvern's library? *L* You should write the story but the ending could be a happy one---I always like the Shrek ending: Instead of him turning into a handsome prince, she could turn out to be this hideous gargoyle and they can live happily ever after and make lots of little gargoyle hatchlings! (thanks for the story!)" | |
| 13 Jan 2006 | M.Botelho | Actually, lol yes I do have a library page, and if I have your permission, I may just write that story and direct people to this picture. And I whole heartedly agree with you, I loove the shrek ending. I admit, I never considered it in this story, it was a spur of the moment, not really origional thing I wrote lol, but I still like it lol. oh yeah, my library has an unfinished story, that is partially edited incorrectly, it's been negelected for some years now... Audrey S. Totire replies: "I started a Wyvern's library myself, but sadly I haven't submitted anything because I guess I am just not a writer!---You definately have my permission to write a story about this. I would be very flattered " | |
| 31 Jan 2006 | Lyra/ Ashaita | ok, so, here's my story, but much different than what meets the eye when first looking at the picture. Okay, so there is this beautiful peasant girl who lived all alone with her poor father, who was a blacksmith. One day, a gargoyle comes to the poor blacksmith with an order to have his hoofs shoed. the blacksmith is so worried that he accidently burns the gargoyle and the gargoyle, in rage, kills the poor man and flies away. The daughter seeks revenge, so she goes to the town's sorceror for advise, and takes it. He directs her to his cave and leaves her there. Saya, the girl, arrives at the cave with a gem in her balled up fist. It has a poisonous serpent's scale within which she uses against the gargoyle. The gargoyle falls for her, and allows her to touch him, wanting to touch her back. As soon as she touches his cheek, his face becomes ecstatic... do death. Saya mourmes her father for the rest of her life and hates gargoyles with a passion. Thus, the name of the artwork 'passion'. deadly passion. Audrey S. Totire replies: "Ooooh! A very different twist on the story! I commend you on your thinking! Good job!" | |
