SciFi and Fantasy Art: Skilt

A skilt is a demonic dragon. There are twelve of them in exsistance. The Queen of Fragthine, Siva keeps eleven of them that she and her companion, Grif had captured. They are kept dormant in a 'tomb' or skilt hold; an ever looming threat to the village below the mountain. I envisioned skilts as being ferocious, quick and cunning with wings to fly over the village, a whip-like tail, and breathing fire. The eyes are vacant, but I also thought if you could look into the eyes you'd see man's eyes behind the orbs. No one has ever gotten that close except to get eaten. Grif must have seen that....Siva realizing that her skilt hold has become unstable and this worries her. She realizes that only one other can help her and that rests in Zentrea who is to capture the skilts in enough time to return them into the tomb after it has been repaired. 9/28/2002~-fine tip--I didn't even sketch it out before I drew. It just emerged. Those are my best pics!

I really like the dynamic pose is this, and the hellish face. He definitely looks like a demonic dragon to me.

I love the motion in this, and the perspective you used with the tail. The only thing I could criticise is with the pose, the head and foreleg are lined up so he looks like he has a claw growing out of his chin.

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Hmmm, I never saw that flaw until you brought it out. --He does have spikes coming out of either side of his chin...I placed this thing in an almost unimaginable exaggerated pose, to look like he was crazy flailing his massive preditory body all over the....not recommended to keep as a pet. 2"

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "*Smiles*--Glad to hear that I pulled that off that good!--Thanks!"

excellent textures, this not something I want following me in the forest! The only critizem I would have for this is the neck looks a bit awkward where it attaches to the body. Happy drawing! Hey! you could do a follow up picture for this!.

EE! So cool! I love your texture and shading, as I see many have said- and the style is oh so fun and interesting. I love that dark, gritty, unrefined look.

I like ot so much! I hope I can also reach the same level in my art skills that I don't need to make a sketch first to make such wonderful pieces.

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Hi Vincent! For the most part I would not recommend drawing anything complicated without sketching it out first. Like most of my complex sketches have many layers of pencil. This creature just emmerged as I was drawing it. SOmetimes those things are just fun to draw. Thanks!"

Nice backstory! I love a picture with a good backstory! ^^
I love pictures that just emerge. Sometimes I just doodle and surprise myself with what comes out. xD

I really like all the claws. Good texturing and shading, too, especially on the wings.
You did it in pencil, right? Great job! 12
