SciFi and Fantasy Art: Vanity Faerie

Okay, Elfwood got me hooked. I have never been one much for faeries but I do them as I see some beautiful ones done here. This one I did for my first free drawing to take in my new Commercial Art class. I was inspired by the Renaissanse Fair I had just been to over the weekend. These images are easy for me to do and I enjoy doing the storybook style. It is a very clean look to it. SO--Expect more of these. ---Completely done in finetip marker.---

OMG this is really amazing! I love how it looks in black and white (even though I'm a color freak and think that this would look awesome in soft color too: or even dark 2 You're really amazing with your art, don't let time or age ever stand in the way of your dreams, it's never too late for them.. and do you ever have the chance of a future here! no matter what anyone else ever says 2 Your art is totaly beautiful!!

I'm amazed. Good shading job, especially because it's in marker. I love the background, and the faerie's wings. She is so cute! My only nitpicking is that her outstretched arm seems a bit funny to me, but besides that it seems perfect. Beautiful work.

I think it's very hard to find an "original" idea for a fairy pic...you have done a beautiful job on a tried and true theme. Lovely pic!

She's pritty, but would look prittier in colour, hint hint!!!
Good work!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Why, thank you.--Some things I just choose to leave sans color and keep the gallery varied. It is true however that the color pieces get far more comments than the black and white or pencil sketches. Detail also getsmore attention in teh black and white pieces. Just my observation. Thanks!"

This is very storybookish and I think that's one thing that makes it so charming. The lines are clean and the details wonderful. I especially love the legs - very well done! Fabulous picture!

i LOVE faeries! This is very well done! Awesome job! It looks like something that could be found in a coloring book.

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "*L*---I've heard other people tell me that it should be in a coloring book....who knows if I will ever get around to doing that! Thanks"
