That's pretty funny that the "Professor" knew enough about Heimdall's mythology to know that he was the son of nine mothers, but then assumes that the rainbow in the picture doesn't represent the rainbow bridge between Asgard and Midgard "Bifrost" but is instead a symbol of gay pride. Thanks for not deleting his post Audrey, it's better to leave it up so we can all get a laugh at his expense.

This is a great design. I love this drawing, along with your wizard Heimy. He looks perfect, a little bit silly, but that is exactly what you would want when you are drawing a woodchuck warrior.

What is "chucking wood" anyways? Throwing it? Why would you want to throw wood in the first place?

12 Audrey S. Totire replies: "....and I hadn't realized that in Norse mythology that they were up on the gay pride thing, myself. I picked up my mythology book and it said the nine mothers were nine sisters and each one gave birth to Heimdall (weirder things have been known to happen but --not lately). Perhaps someone is reading more into that than the information gives.I guess chucking is a slang for throwing out. According to my "Fact finding analysis"---Wood chucks don't have time to chuck wood. A very poorly named critter, I say....And then there's the name "ground hog". It is not a hog, nor is it related to pigs and I am certain that our Bifrost "Master- Baker" (Amanda?)could tell us that they don't taste like the other white meat!SO there you go, unless Bifrost decides to have a wood throwing contest. I doubt highly that I would win, --bad shoulder, you know....Thanks for stopping by!"

Love his teeth and ears. Nice glinty sword there
He's great fun!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "I was so happ to finally own Photoshop...I think I had to move it on Paintshop to get the shiney areas (not a full version of Photoshop)--*L* sometimes I have to move my pictures around to three different programs until I get what I want! Thanks for your comment!"

Man, that 'Professor' with the really daft name either has far too much time on his hands or really thinks he is impressing someone with his nitpicking homophobia. As if school children would know the above story and wouldn't just appreciate the art! Oh, and let's make sure children never see a rainbow in case it corrupts them. Avert your eyes from the rainbow children!

Audrey, I think this picture is fantastic. Heimy is adorable, this is such a good mascot pic. He is the definitive woodchuck! Be proud because, as I think someone already said, this pic rocks! As does Bifrost 12

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "*LOL*--The comment about children averting their eyes from the rainbow was cute, make sure they never see the color purple or listen to "Queen" or watch "TeleTubbies" either. Thanks so much--Bifrost definately rocks!"

What the..? You see a rainbow and automatically think its gay and freak out about it? Sounds pretty homophobic...and you know what that usually means...

This picture rocks and is much better than anything I could produce. And, chances are, anything the dear proffesor could produce. Contrary to ignorant belief, I dont think this picture has any homosexual connotations. Very well done!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "My thought is that the person who left the remark thought that I was offering this character up for the the community college I am attending right now. THen perhaps I think if the college had sports teams like football where the players want to look macho they might be concerned about appearing "queer". As far as I know there are no sports teams . I wouldn't offer this character up anyway. That wouldn't be very origional since he belongs to Bifrost. It would be nice to have a cool mascot for the school. I had fun drawing this Heimy, I'd like to try something else 2--Thanks for your comment!"

All right, I can't resist commenting about the so called Professor's comment there first. In today's society there are plenty of lesbian, gay, and bisexual persons let alone transgender or questioning. There are more out there than one could possibly know, and if there was a school out there who chose to use Heimy and the rainbow, I'd tell them to rock on.

To the Artist though: Heimy is fantastic! Your use of color, and the expression on his face is, to sum it up, delightful! Keep up the excellent work! and Yay for Bifrost!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Thank you!---and I about died laughing when I read the news about some writer preaching to school students about Harry Potter being gay. Funny, some people have way too much time on their hands worrying about the sexual preferences of fictional and mythological characters."

Heh. Nope, they're rather gamey, I hear. Definately NOT white meat. 1 Though, since we've adopted Heimy, I'd have to say that I don't think I'll be eating whistlepig any time soon. Though I could point you in the direction of some sites with recipies. I'd try beaver-tail steak, however. That one I'm curious about. 12

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "So maybe our new slogan should be: "save a woodchuck --eat a bea---",( I'm not going there!)If you ever try the beaver tail steak let me know how it is---I'll take your word for it 12"

BWHAHAHAHA

He is sooo cute! I would huge him but I'm a little scared he would use the sword on me! **eep**

::tries to talk cutey into dropping the sword::

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "I don't think that Heimy would hurt anyone with that sword...he might with those teeth though. I'll call them the mighty incisors of death 2....You're safe. He likes Bifrosties. Everyone else --look out!"

Scoggins???? O.o Huh. I'd say he was a little insecure about something. You doin' all right over there, prof? It is absolutely amazing how people can find an agenda in the most innocent of things. Heimy looks great. Couldn't be better. I really don't think that school kids would instantly think Heimdall -> nine mothers -> rainbow in background-> Lesbian!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "*L*...I bet if this was the Reagan era someone might complain that Heimy was a communist---or a few years back he might not have been politically correct. There's always somebody complaining about something!"

This is absolutely adorable! Love his facial expression!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Thanks!"
14 Oct 2007:-) Wendy Bittnerová
You did such a great job on this portrait of Heimdall. He has so much character. Great job! Smiles - Wendy

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Thanks Wendy! It's really great to hear from you again!---I wanted this Heimdal to look like he's saying, "I am part of EW's BIFROST COMMUNITY and I kick ARSE!" (don't mess with the woodchuck!) 10"
