SciFi and Fantasy Art: Strange Eons

In the dark, forgotten places of this Earth, where no living man has ever been, lay things old beyond imagination, now forlorn, left for dreams and nightmares older than mankind to dwell...

Ooh! This is pretty.

Reminds me a bit of the card "Sunken City" from Magic: the Gathering.

Congratulations on Mod's Choice.

hmm is this R`lyeh? Somehow I didn't think any Deep Ones (save mabey Dagon) would dare enter the city of the Star Spawn. Mabey it's Y'ha-nthlei or one of the unnamed cities in the Pacific?..... Anyways I'm rambeling. This is a beautiful and inspiring piece whatever it is.

I know enough wise words have been contributed to the PH arguement here.. but I had to add something.

First of all. This piece is remarkable. Whoever says there should be more detail does not appriciate the simplicity of it. The use of very few colors creates an amazing atmosphere, the ruins are remarkable mysterious and eerie. So are the little frog lookin people standing at the bottom of the tower!

Also, "SweetDream" is the type of person who makes me uncontrollably angry. This is obviously hand painted Photoshop work. There are thousands of pieces of digital work out there in which a caring artist puts even more effort into than a natural media piece. In fact, I find Photoshop even harder than natural media (that's why I like it, lol.) How bout photography.. that's done with a single click of a camera, but it's still beautiful right? I congraduate you on this wonderful piece of work. It took more creativity and effort than anyone is allowed to judge.

Somebody should give you a million dollars for drawing that.

I can just imagine it: a pulp role-playing game of submarine exploration in the ocean depths. And then the GM says "looking out of the porthole, you see this" and hands this picture to me! Time to head back home sharpish, lads!
