SciFi and Fantasy Art: Tam the Teakettle

It is the night of all Hallows eve, and the lady Jannet has gone to Mile's Cross to win back her lover, the Earthly Knight Tam Lin from the fairy folk, who are about to use him as a human sacrifice. He has given her instructions as to how to win him back, which usually go something like this: 'They'll turn me in your arms, lady, Into an esk and adder; But hold me fast, and fear me not, I am your bairn's father. 'They'll turn me to a bear And then a lion bold; But hold me fast, and fear me not, As ye shall love your child. 'Again they'll turn me in your arms To a red het gaud of iron; But hold me fast, and fear me not, I'll do to you no harm. 'And last they 'll turn me in your arms Into the burning gleed; Then throw me into well water, 0 throw me in wi speed. 'And then I'll be your ain true-love, I'll turn a naked knight; Then cover me wi your green mantle, And cover me out o sight.' And so, this is what she plans to do. It is the middle of the transformations, and the fairy queen mispronounces a word, and- Poof! Dear Jannet is holding- A… teakettle? And to think, this all came about because of an anonymous post on my Jannet pic…

8 Aug 2006	Bri	Loading... I've read a story like that.... If you would like I will tell you a slightly different version of the tale, though it does not have such a funny ending... lol. But it is still good. I really like the drawing its cute... Aurora O'Neill replies: "~~Part of ACAM~~ Bri, dear,I made up this ending. Or rather, and anonymous post on the Jannet pic sparked it...."
