SciFi and Fantasy Art: Spirit Twin

An experiment in morphing two characters. I wanted to see how closely I could blend the subjects before the picture lost its clarity. I think I could have taken this much further. I’m such a coward!

What a cool picture! I'm in awe. You're a wonder, truly.

1 Barbara J. Wickham replies: "I think you just broke the 'first comment dance creativity' record. Wait...have you done a first comment 2-step boogey, yet? He-he-he. Thank you with sugar on top and a cookie on the side! Your comments always brighten my day! "

Such power! Such beauty! Such a dynamic picture!

17 Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Many, many thanks! I've been considering this sketch as an oil painting. I haven't painted in years! Years! So this would be a lovely piece to practice on. "

Very Creative and nice, I wish you did step out on that limb and take your chance and morph it more. that is what art is all about, never be scared to draw anything, take it as far as you can every time. I am only trying to be encouraging here. because that is a very nice design, I could see someone getting a tattoo of that, and yeah, I know how you work to make it fit the body peice its on, that would be cool starting out on the shoulder and going across the back right below the neck.

3 Barbara J. Wickham replies: "This would be a lovely tattoo, especially for a lady wanting something with delicate lines. Thank you for the encouragment because I have been considering this one as a finished piece which would offer the perfect opportunity to take it further in the morphing. "

Wow. They're like insparible, deeply close campanions. This one of u'r best pics!

13 Barbara J. Wickham replies: "I'm so glad you like this! Blending two images is so fun but it can also give you a massive headache! *groan* "

I like the symbolisum but the two faces just kinda clash

11 Barbara J. Wickham replies: "This turned out okay but it was far from what I had originally envisioned. Curse my over-reaching ambition! *lol* I agree that there is very little flow between the subjects and I would need to do some serious work to improve that part of it. *sigh*

Thank you very much for providing a sincere comment!"

Beautiful drawing... I love the way their hair mingles... and the image flows so gracefully... you might have been able to mingle them more... but then you might have lost something. I like the clarity of both profiles... nice work!

11 Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Ya know, you hit the nail on the head. I was loving the way the drawing flowed so I didn't want to mess that up in order to morph the characters more. I could always try again in another pic, so this drawing will stay as is. Besides, I love how the hair turned out too and that gives the pic enough interest on it's own.

Thank you so much for your input, Wendy. I've never liked the idea of changing this pic, so that's why it's stayed untouched all this time. It's nice to hear it from someone else though. "
