| 22 May 2006 | Wahots79 | Wonderful work, regal, sleek and wise. I've seen you gallery, you're good. I also like the fact that you only do tats for people that have spiritual meaning. My sis got a tat that she doesn't want now (a Mickey M.). I just got at tat that I love. It is a wolf I sponsored (and I see them often in dreams) I got Celtic knots around him to honor my grandmama who's passed and four wolf pawprints in the Four Directions. Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thank you for such a lovely comment!
There's nothing worse than committing to something so powerful that ends up being less than what you expected. I'm happy that you found a design that holds such a strong personal meaning. These kinds of visuals help us on a daily basis to keep our spirits motivated. I have nothing against folks using tats as simple decoration, especially if it makes the person feel positive. Heck, even Mickey M. can be a positive totem for the right person, but getting a design simply because it's cute or popular only leads to disappointment."
| 5 Jun 2006 | I'm honest | OMG this is awesome. I've been looking for a tattoo and I want a tattoo of my spirit animal. This looks like a wolf but my spirit animal is a tiger. Would you be willing to make a tiger tattoo? If so please e-mail me or comment. Keep up the good work. Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thank you so much! I'm glad you like my design. I'm sorry but I'm not able to take requests at this time. I have very little time to work on my art right now so I save that time for my personal projects. I hope you understand and I really appreciate your comment.
btw-some other folks have shown my style to their tattoo artists, who have been able to duplicate the technique rather successfully. That might be an option for you if you have a tattooist willing to try. I think a tiger would look awesome in this style!"
| 8 Sep 2006 | Blacknight | My girlfriend calls me wolf because of my nickname. Wolves have alway been in my life I have wanted one as a pet for many years now so COOL tattoo man. Great job Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thank you! I love the wild majesty of wolves and I find myself continuously inspired by their unfettered spirit." | |
| 14 Apr 2007 | Anonymous | I need your help. I've been looking for this tattoo that means protector. Its a full circle with three "blades" (kinda similar to the shape of a quarter moon at some point Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Sorry. I am unable to take any requests." | |
| 6 Jun 2007 | Victor Hill | The Spirit Guardian Tattoo is simply amazing. I would like your permission to customise the design further on my own and have it tattooed on my back. I was thinking of having either flames or tribal coming from the wolf and covering the top of my back so the wolf is hard to see but when someone looks hard the c a wolf in the midst of the tribal or flame markings Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thank you very much! I'm glad you like this design and I think it would be fantastic to make it your own. Many folks have requested the use of this design and I tell each one that in order to avoid a duplication of someone else's tat, they really need to alter the design in some way to make it more personal.
So, yes you most definitely have my permission to use this design and I sure thank you for asking. Your idea sounds brilliant! "

Wickham replies: "Thank you robbie. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, however I am unable to take any requests or commissions. I just don't have the time anymore. Sorry. "
| 22 Jul 2007 | Juan Luis | Hello Barbara!!! I'm a 17 teenager from Venezuela and I really like your design. I always want a wolf tattoo, but I was undecided because are a lot of greats designs. Recently one of my best friends died on a tragic accident, but I know that he always will be in my heart and around me to keep me save of all evil. For that reason your design means a lot to me, because I know that my friend is my Spirit Guardian. Thank you for your art and please excuse my bad English Barbara J. Wickham replies: "I'm very sorry for your loss, Juan. It's very nice to know that this image gave you some comfort and reaffirmed the bond you have with your friend in spirit. Thank you so much for sharing your story with me." | |
| 26 Jul 2007 | Chris P | Just what I've been looking for. I'm a past caretaker of a wolf-hybrid that lived with me for over 11 years. She was the greatest and most devoted animal that I ever shared company with. In her honor, I hope you don't mind if I take a copy of this to my local parlor. I'd like to incoporate this with a tribal design that I have on one of long sleeve riding tee's for the base of a forearm tattoo. Thank you so much for letting this design be posted and available to the public. Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thanks Chris! I am sure your tattoo will turn out beautifully and be a great memorial to your loyal friend. " | |
