SciFi and Fantasy Art: Not Really Lan

This WAS going to be a picture of Lan from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books, but when I was drawing it, I hadn't read the books yet, and forgot that Lan doesn't have a beard. I don't know why I even put it on in the first place. Anyway, it isn't Lan, but it's still a cool picture. So here it is.

Does Lan have a KATANA???? Or look so sad? Maybe it's after Moiraine died (YES SHE DID DIE!!!! Listen not to the heathens who believe she is alive. She is as dead as Elvis(HE's DEAD TOO DUMBASSES!!!))

Well, after talking with some friends of mine, and reading what little of the series that I have, I DO think Lan has a katana. I think they refer to it a couple of times as being curved, and Lan (and the whole warder class, for that matter) just seem like samurai. But that's just my personal opinion. 12

I think he looks cool with a beard, I dont remember any references to him having one, but I always pictured him with a goatee or fumanchu of some sort... I like it!

Hmmm... fairly nice picture, definatly NOT what I pictured Lan to be, though =). And to Anonymous: Moraine does die. I have read all of the books up to Winter's Heart, as well, and she does not appear after The Fires of Heaven. Oh, I suppose there's always the possibility of her popping up after a very, very long visit in the twisted doorway, but it's a slim chance. Besides, don't you think RJ would have brought her back before now? No, I think she's gone for good. Again, nice pic. The muscles are a bit sharp-edged, but I love the sword!

I have read the tenth book, and Moraine does appear in it. SHe comes back, stronger than ever, as mentioned in an earlier post. Sounds a bit like Lord of the Rings, to me.
