DRAAAAGONS YAY!!!!! what dos she have on her shoulder? teh picture isnt bad but it should be adjusted abit more soem shade and stuff its a sketch i mean Krista "Hopefeather" Zimmerman replies: "Yup, it’s still a sketch; I’ll probably never be brave enough to actually finish it, lol. I was having this huge artist’s block thing when I heard the song "Hanging by a moment" by Lifehouse. It totally reminded me of one of my stories (the one I told you about with the griffins and dragons), so I just picked up a pencil and started drawing. Lol, I was REALLY happy with it at the time because it was the first thing I’d drawn in a LONG while, it was funny! I see what you mean though now, with the angle and all, I’ll try to improve on that next time. Thank you for the comment!!!"
| 29 Mar 2008 | Celeste ´Saphira´ Rigelhof | are the dragons evil in your story? I’m not! lol cute pic! Krista "Hopefeather" Zimmerman replies: "Oh dear, I’ll try not to write a whole novel on this, lol . . .
The dragons in the story are not evil per se, and the story is basically all about how they come to realize that, and well it goes something like this . . .
Gantu is born into a tribe of griffins, and she is the daughter of the tribe’s leader. Usually, she would have been raised by her mother, but the tribe’s leader dies soon after, and the tribe must fight harder than ever to protect their children. Meanwhile, also in that same forest, the dragons are also celebrating a birth, as their new leader too hatches. Mystwing, the dragons’ current queen, believes that the griffins are less good than the dragons themselves, and thinks that her son Clythmire should hate them as well. Many of the dragons disagree, but they know that they face dire punishment if they speak out against her. Finally, Mystwing’s mate, the father of the newly born dragon, dares to stand up to her. That night is forever engraved in the young dragon Cltyhmire’s memory, as his father falls to the ground protecting him from the evil of his mother. Months pass, and Gantu grows up under the care of her tribe, knowing nothing about the rumors begun about a dragon child said to be the one who would lead a battle against the griffins. Yet one day as she has finally begun to venture away from the safety of her home, the young griffin begins seeing curious signs. They lead her farther and farther away, until she comes face to face with one of the creatures her tribe has feared for so long. Yet what she finds is nothing like what they had imagined. Clythmire, not much older than Gantu herself, tells the young of a life very different from her own. He tells her of the evils of his mother and the bravery of his father, how their queen had become obsessed with her power and the horrible plan she had in store for the griffins. The two must protect each other, and through their unlikely friendship are given the chance to create peace between the dragons and griffins who have battled each other for so long.
Oh dear, speaking of "so long . . ." - that took forever! Lol, so they’re not evil, see! I’ve already started drawing the pictures to go with this story, so I can try to post it along with them if you’d like! Anyway, thank you so much for the comment; you’ve inspired me to keep writing it!!! "
