SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Evil Prince

I do believe I have my dear, sweet, H.D. Leonard hooked on this little goody... She said she'd write me a story on him. *Sqwee!* He's pretty, but I don't think I could have made him ANY more flaming than I did... *ahem* I'll post a link whenever Helen gets the time to write for him. And, if you have an idea for a well-known or even obscure fairytale she could base it on, please tell me! ^^

Well y'know, this is probably me just coming down off an aspartame high, but to me he's got this slender posture and the outstretched, uber-straight hand that makes him seem almost artificial (not meaning this as a dig at the most-talented-artiste, but more that he seems to have a really inhuman quality to him.) Possessed, mechanical, marionette, or (my favorite) undead? As for fairy tales... what about a new take on the Nutcracker? I mean, we've already said he's flaming, right? Heh! Seriously though, going back through the Nutcracker story and twisting it around a bit might fit this guy in really well- if the title character is A) the villain of the story, 7 some weird wooden-type person in real life, or C) seems to prefer the company of the Mouse King to sweet little Clara? Oh heck, you could pervert this any number of ways- back to the drawing though, this guy is COOL! That purple is just... haaalgh, and we're talking *skin-tight* here too! (Awesome costume all around really, you've got a major knack for body contours, and the way the shirtsleeves blouse out is just too nifty.) Last question- would that drink happen to be champagne?

:-) Rebecca J. R. Gordon replies: "*laughs* You're right.. this started out as A Vamp. Chron. bitty of fan art... I worked my way down the line of male vampires (Louis, Lestat, Marius, Armand...) and figured it could be none of the above. So, I made him my own character. I think Helen may have decided on who she's using him for, but I wonder if I can talk her into popping out another story or something. ^-^As for everything else, thanks! I kinda' dig the slinky-spandex looking pants. Wish I had some. *grin* Oh, and, yes... that's champagne. The choice drink of royal-18th-century-fruits everywhere..."

I will write for him, I will. I have several starts of stories, none of which want to get finished though. Hmm I'd swear that I'd already commented on this piece, I wonder what happened to the comments. I like this pic, he's so... well gay in a not quite so happy sort of way. I keep thinking he's just about to let that glass he's holding drop and make a terrible mess on the floor, all the shards shattering for some poor servant to pick up. I wonder why...

Quite fascinating the way some of us start with the Ricean vampires and then turn to the fascination of the Dark Prince, a 'better bite', I say...
