SciFi and Fantasy Art: Embraced in darkness...

This picture has a ton of story behind it like all the others in the Demangel the Dark angel series. This is a picture of a pair of angels (Demangel and Alecia) which where servants of Lucifer before the fall. They eventually decided not to take sides when the war in heaven broke out between God and Lucifer, and in this scene are surrounded by other angels allied with lucifer. Can they escape?

I love the effect created with your lighting in the mist, and the two foreground figures are wonderful. I like the concept of heavily armored angels. I mean, these are the warriors of God... WHY would they be wearing togas and be armed with harps? Nice work!

I think the sinister eyes staring from the background are a really grasping feature. I think if you keep working the same cool talent on your work that you'll never have problems man. It appears you have dedication to your work and it definitely shows in this illustration.

30 Aug 2004	Greg	Loading... very interesting concept...according to Dante's Inferno and medieval catholic doctrine the angels that refused to take sides in the War of Angels were cast out of Heaven as well. Because they had not sinned as Lucifer and his rebels did they were not consigned to Hell, but rather to an outer Limbo. Aside from that -- Love the pic!
