SciFi and Fantasy Art: Burning WaveHinomizu doing his signature move, the Consuming Fire-Wave. Here he has only started the wave and is just about to ignite it into a burning wave of water. (Similar to lit oil on water.) Most mages with fire and water gifts cannot use them simultaneously, but as the Chosen of the Fire and Water Elementals Hinomizu's specialty is being able to combine the two opposing elements without cancelling them out. Wow, it's a good thing I've never seen any pictures from or played Chrono Trigger in my life. I have been told several times before there is a resemblance in the characters, but I refuse to change a design based on other's misguided, inflammatory accusations and assumptions. I would hope by now folks would realize I do my best to be original and sometimes, just sometimes, designs are going to coincide a bit, whether intentionally or not.
His hair is orange because he's A) a hothead and B)works with fire elemnts. His outfit is blue because A)I like contrasting orange with blue B)He can use water elements and C)He can fly. (He will later also wear green and amber.) His eyes are blue when calm because it's tranquil like a river and red when pissed because he's angry. His hair is spikey A) to resemble flames and B) because I like spikey hair and C) it looks 'anime-like,' his base style.br>
