SciFi and Fantasy Art: Dragon

Finally got around to doing another dragon. This started as a line drawing while watching 'Erik the Viking' with some help for the shoulder muscles from my D&D book. Scanned it into photoshop and this is what it ended as. I wanted it to be a blue dragon, but as I went on adding in the background he got more and more lost, so I turned him into this gold-y color instead. Finally added the scale-y texture, too bad you can really tell... It lost a lot of the textures when I shrank it. Some might ask why I don't leave my images at the 1000 or what ever the new max is. Well, I figure what is the point if when someone tries to look at it, they can't see the whole thing? so I keep it down to a 800x600 size, and compress it as far as possible without lossing too much quality. I figure our dial up visitors would appreciate it. October 19,2003: Won my catagory in the Novi Comic Con with this piece. ::Giggles happily!:::

Erik The Viking! ONE of my favorites! Beyond that, great depth and believeable anatomy. Great!

Ooh, beautiful. I love the shading, the face of its face, and that fin along its neck/back/tail. And that pose... so magestic. Great job!

Quite nice. The limbs seem a little short though. But whatever its your pic...good choice of colors.

My computer screen is exuding the dragon equivalent of testosterone! That's so awsome! IT's often hard to tell whether a dragon is a boy or a girl, but this one... awsome, in every sence of the word.
