SciFi and Fantasy Art: Slavan Ravenheart (Version 1)

I did this for a person who requested a picture of her druid character (Hi, Amy!), Slavan Ravenheart. This drawing is meant to look like her, but even though this version of Slavan is beautiful, and Amy herself is just as attractive, the resemblance falls short of accurate. There will be more of these, I'm sure, when I get some more photos of my patient subject to work with.

Why do people INSIST on being horndogs OR by claiming to be virginal saints that never notice such things(and then go to sleep each night with disturbing Bishi boy imagerey in their heads) Anyhoo, All of your art is wonderful and as a fan of photorealism I have to ask what made you decide to do her hair that way? Its freaking awesome-gives it greater 3d presence then anything I can pull off. My hat is off to you lady-you rock. Brenna Alyn Walters replies: "Hmm. From what I recall, I used a paper stump to blend the lines toward the center of the strands. I really love Art-nouveau style lines, and I find that it works well if you keep photo-real as possible in the rest of the picture, but go wild with the hair...By the way, thank you for the honeyed words!"
