SciFi and Fantasy Art: Zweihander

Big, nasty sword.
This piece is from the now completely gone through pile of pics I had being going through to help fill up my Elfwood page while I was hard at work making some new stuff. The picture is nothing fall over special, but I liked it.
I have moved since scanning this in, so I can even tell you what it was on. I know it was done with my good old fashioned 0.5 mechanical pencil.

Right! Tonight has not been my night when it comes to interacting with technology. *Thumps head on the desk* I'm obviously an idiot, so I'm just gonna go look at the rest of the pretty pictures...

User ID, Member ID, I can never remember which one I'm -supposed- to use. *Sheepish grin*

I like the simplicity of it. The blade looks effective, efficient, and as you said, nasty. It also looks like a sword, which makes me vaguely jealous -- my edged weapons often end up looking like butter knives or surveying stakes or something equally non-threatening.

Do i need to say anymore than 'YUMMY' big sword??

Very good. The sort of Zweihander that I could imagine a villain using. At fife and a half feet long, I'd have to say that whoever used it had better have the skill to back it up, no matter what the stance.

The zweihander was originally applied by the swedish in order to take out calvalry, the soldier would prop themselves up against the ground as the calvalry charged and the sword, which was about 4'5 to 6' long would usualy slip right through the shoulder blade of the horse, sometimes cutting the soldiers leg off while crippleing. I dont think dragonlord knows what he is talking about , the hilt is as large as it should be, though the hilt is a tad to small

Awesome. I wouldn't mind owning one myself.
