SciFi and Fantasy Art: A Clockwork Oran...errr, Owl....
Commission for a friend at work. This is Jenevive, Derek Sheeman's wizard character. She's a gadget mage, heavily into wands and devices, and really likes clockwork. In fact, she likes clockwork so much, she once assembled an owl similar to Bubo of Clash of the Titans fame. Sadly, the owl is no longer among the 'living', but I thought it would work well in the pic anyway :) <04/04/08> While trying to upload a new pic, the extranet sent me a notice that this and several other pics were too large pixel-wise, and that I would have to adjust them. Retroactive pixelization...who knew? ;)
This deffinately is your best picture. The detail is awesome. You know, I use these kind of pictures to learn from. No colors Luckily. So you want constructive criticism...on this picture?! Well...let's see.....Maybe you should add a little bit more background? But not too much. Hm...the picture is almost perfect, except the hands maybe? Oh, cool chainshirt by the way!Detail can make or break a pic. I don't think it's my best piece, but I do like it a lot. Thanks

After perusing through here again, seeing this picture brings back all kinds of memories. I wanted to say again Thank You, and that this is just a perfect representation of the character. The mechanical owl looks great too The owl still irritates me a bit, as it didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted it. I still have issues with birds. Glad you liked it so much, though

Looks good. Maybe a little squished, but that's not really an issue.Squished how? Vertically? It's just possible.

You suck you jackass Brian Keith Cooke replies: "And yet another drive-by sucking from someone with a deeply held opinion...and yet afraid to leave his name or e-mail address. To be perfectly honest, I'm a little surprised that you spelled "you" correctly, rather than using netspeak. Thanks for the giggle "

Dont worry i know who wrote that can i kill him for u, pplleeaasssse??!!?!?!? Cause i think this is greatMeh, why kill him? Let him revel in his ignorance. Art is subjective, and he doesn't have to like my work. He's just unable to pull a more constructive criticism from his third grade vocabulary than "suck".
Ooh, lovely. I love her face and her glasses. I also like that she’s somewhat short! Great picture, you’re really talented with a pencil Brian Keith Cooke replies: "Thanks!"
I think this one is my favorite from your gallery so far Brian. You’ve done alot of good detail on this one but the thing that stands out the most is her personality. You can see just by how you’ve portrayed her that she’s very intelligent, willfull, and definately powerfull in her own right. Awesome proportions of anatomy and all. Two thumbs up!
