SciFi and Fantasy Art: Proteus Ascendant

One of the sons of Poseidon, Proteus is also one of the Greek sea gods. Proteus had the ability to transform into anything at will. This pic incorporates some of the elements/creatures into which he could change. Done entirely by hand (mouse) in Paint Shop Pro.

Alright!!!(does first comment dance) I really like this one. It is unusual to see you do something on the computer. I think you are getting better. I really like this one. I love the way he merges with the water. And I love the detail of the shadow on the sand. Keep up the good work--KayceA little scary that you've been cruising the galleries enough to do the first comment dance now 12 I'm certainly getting better with my control over computer paint programs. I shudder to think what this would have looked like a year ago. Thanks 2

By hand with a mouse? I can hardly manage a tablet @_@ Real media all the way! 8D
Great work on the rolling waves; I can really feel that foam. X3Woohoo! Two comments! 2 I don't have a tablet, so I have to use the mouse. Took a bit of work to adjust things the way I wanted them, but it was worth it I think. The waves were actually kind of fun to do. Thanks for stopping by 2

Absolutely breathtaking...I'm a fan of Greek Mythology and even though your Proteus isn't like imagination but hey, everybody have different ideas right? I love the way you have two opposite elements (water and fire) merge together though... Stunningly powerful!!!!Done as a commission for my brother, he really wanted the combination of elements.

Two things - One, I think this is maybe one of the most technically proficient things I've seen come out of your head, which is a good thing. Two, Wow. 2 Okay, three things, really... It also saddens me that you had to put the disclaimer across the picture. Stupid art thieves. 8Thanks. Considering your expertise with photoshop, that means a lot.

I wouldn't say my skills with photoshop are all that great, but thank you for the compliment. 2 If I had your skills with pencils, I'd be happy. 2You do yourself a disservice. You forget, I've seen all the comments about your costumes 2

OH NO RUN AWAY!
Its the NOT FOR PERSONAL USE AVENGER TIGER MAN!

Just made me laugh, but I like the picture too. Here is the wiki on Protues too; because I didn’t want to go on and talk about him in great length. I would like to say I doubt he’d take lion form, as his animal is usually a bull or seal.

I like the water work you did as well
